Guru (1989 Film)
''Guru'' is a 1989 Indian Hindi-language film directed by Umesh Mehra, starring Nutan, Mithun Chakraborty, Sridevi and Shakti Kapoor. The film was a huge commercial success. Incidentally, after 14 years, Chakraborty worked in a 2003 film of the same name in Bengali, as well as a 2007 film of the same name, 18 years later. The film's plot is based on ''Kaakki Sattai'' starring Kamal Haasan, a 1985 Tamil hit. Summary Gaurav Shankar "Guru" Shrivastav's ambition is to become an upright Police officer, but unluckily he is not getting selected. His sole strength is his lady love Rama. As Guru's ambition fails, he turns to alcohol, dacoity, and thuggism. He finally joins Manu's lethal gang to take revenge on the Police force, which blocked his ambition. Umesh Mehra
Umesh Mehra is an Indian film director and producer. He was prominent in the 1980s and 1990s. His notable films include '' Alibaba Aur 40 Chor'' (1980), '' Sohni Mahiwal'' (1984) and Vardi (1989). Seema Deo (27 March 1942 – 24 August 2023) was an Indian Hindi and Marathi film actress. She appeared in over 80 Marathi and Hindi films. She won Maharashtra State Film Award for Best Actress for the film Pahu re kiti vaat. Biography Seema Deo was born and brought up in Girgaum, Mumbai. She was married to actor Ramesh Deo. They had two sons, actor Ajinkya Deo and director Abhinay Deo. She suffered from Alzheimer's disease in the last years of her life. Seema Deo died on 24 August 2023, at the age of 81.
