Guoxing Avenue
Guoxing Avenue () is a major street in Haikou, Hainan, China. It runs in an east-west direction in the heart of the city. Its west end terminates at Longkun Road and its east end terminates at the Qiongzhou Bridge which crosses the Nandu River. History Guoxing Avenue was once Haikou's main airport (since relocated to Haikou Meilan International Airport southeast of the city centre). Built around 2005, the avenue was first seldom used for vehicular traffic route. Most of the land on the north and south sides were unoccupied. It has since become a heavily trafficked road. In 2017, the west end was connected to a newly built road that provides access to the new neighbourhood 'Haikou West Coast' located around 7 km west of the Haikou city centre. The east end of Guoxing connects to the route to Haikou Meilan International Airport. Qiongzhou Bridge
Qiongzhou Bridge (), also known as the Nandu Bridge and the Nandu Ninth Bridge, is a bridge that spans the Nandu River, Hainan Province, China. Opened on May 12, 2003, at a cost of 200 million yuan (US$32.3 million), it serves as the main bridge from Haikou city to Haikou Meilan International Airport. It crosses the Nandu River at the east end of Guoxing Avenue. The bridge replaces the partially collapsed Nandu River Iron Bridge some away. Haikou Tower
Hainan Center () is an under-construction supertall skyscraper on Guoxing Avenue, Haikou, Hainan, China. Once owned by HNA, and part of a suite of 10 buildings, construction was halted in early 2018 on this main tower due to financial problems. It sat for several years incomplete, and since around the beginning of 2024, was taken over by the government. Construction is being done by China Railway Construction Corporation and is expected to be finished by late 2027.
