Gunther Thiebaut
Gunter Thiebaut (born 12 January 1977) is a Belgian retired footballer who played as a striker. Club career Early career Thiebaut's professional career started at Lebbeke. Thiebaut was then signed by Eendracht Aalst in Summer 1998, a team that played in the First Division. After showing some great displays, he moved to Cypriot team Omonia Nicosia, and returned to Belgium after that. In Belgium he played for Dender, which was known as FC Denderleeuw at that time. Here, he showed his goalscoring capabilities. In the 2002–2003 season at Denderleeuw, Thiebaut was top-scorer in the Belgian Second Division. New adventure & topscorer His great scoring earned him another adventure. In Germany he was signed by 1. FC Saarbrücken. He played some good seasons, but decided to find his way back to Belgium in 2005. S.V. Zulte Waregem was his new team in the 2006–2007 season. Asse
Asse () is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant. It comprises the towns of Asse proper, Bekkerzeel, Kobbegem, Mollem, Relegem and Zellik. Asse is also situated in the Pajottenland. As of 2020, Asse had a total population of 32,958. The total area is 49.64 km² which gives a population density of circa 660 inhabitants per km². History Asse (formerly spelt "Assche") was probably inhabited by the Celtic tribe of the Nervii. The name itself probably comes from a pre-Celtic word meaning "water" (cf Esch-, Es- and Axe- prefixes elsewhere in Europe). It was probably inhabited from an early date; stone tools have been found in various locations. The fertility of the soil and the relief which rises above the wetter plains of present-day Flanders would also suggest that his would have been an early area of settlement. Eerste Divisie
The Eerste Divisie (, en, First Division) is the second-highest tier of football in the Netherlands. It is linked with the top-level Eredivisie and with the third-level Tweede Divisie via promotion/relegation systems. It is also known as the Keuken Kampioen Divisie due to sponsorship, while previously it was known as Jupiler League for the same reason. History The Eerste Divisie consists of 20 clubs, who play each other in a double round-robin league, with each club playing the other club home and away. Each club plays every other club once in the first half of the season before the league takes a winter break around the Christmas and New Year's holiday season. The second half of the season sees the same fixtures as the first half, with the stadiums changed, although the two halves are not played in the same order.
