Gunplay (comics)
''Gunplay'' is a graphic novel, written by Jorge Vega, with art by Dominic Vivona. It was published by Platinum Studios in 2008. Publication history Vage was the winner of the 2007 Platinum Studios Comic Book Challenge, besting over two million other submissions. An issue #0 preview comic book was released in March 2008, which was followed by a graphic novel. Plot Buffalo Soldier Abner Meeks is condemned to roam the plains with a demonic gun that forces him to kill someone once a day or suffer soul-searing pain. Christopher Priest provided prose backup stories in each issue, chronicling the "Legend of Abner." Weird West, also known as Weird Western, is a term used for the hybrid genres of fantasy Western, horror Western and science fiction Western, combining elements of the Western genre with those of fantasy, horror and science fiction. ''Cowboys & Aliens'' is a 105-page graphic novel created by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg and written by Fred Van Lente and Andrew Foley, with art by Dennis Calero and Luciano Lima. It was released by American publisher Platinum Studios in 2006. Publication history Platinum Studios founder & chairman Rosenberg came up with the ''Cowboys & Aliens'' concept in 1997. Rosenberg and European rights agent Ervin Rustemagić had tried to sell the film rights to the Western comic ''Tex'', but were not finding success. Final Destination
''Final Destination'' is an American horror franchise that includes six films, ten novels, and two comic books. It is based on an unproduced spec script by Jeffrey Reddick, originally written for the television series ''The X-Files''. All of its films' plots are based on the premise of a small group of people who escape impending death after one visionary individual has a sudden premonition and warns them about a major disaster that is about to occur. After avoiding their foretold deaths seen in the visions, the survivors are later killed one by one in bizarre accidents caused by an unseen force, described as Death itself, that creates complicated chains of cause and effect, resembling Rube Goldberg machines. The visionary then reads omens in an attempt to again avert the deaths of the survivors. Christopher James Priest (born James Christopher Owsley , June 30, 1961) is an American comic book writer who is at times credited simply as Priest. He changed his name legally circa 1993. He was the first black writer-editor in mainstream comics. Comics writing Priest (as Jim Owsley) entered the comics industry as a Marvel Comics intern in 1978. He joined Marvel's editorial staff in 1979, working for Paul Laikin as a managing editor on '' Crazy Magazine'' and becoming the first African American editor in mainstream comics. He next became assistant editor for Larry Hama on the '' Conan'' titles. Owsley made his professional debut as a writer in 1983 with issue No. 1 of '' The Falcon'' miniseries and was made full editor of the ''Spider-Man'' comic books from 1985 to 1986.
