Gunnar Torvund
Gunnar Torvund (9 July 1948 – 14 October 2019) was a Norwegian sculptor. Personal life Torvund was born in Nærbø to electrician Martin Torvund and Inger Synnøve Risvold Helliesen, and he was a brother of poet Helge Torvund. After art studies in Copenhagen and Oslo, he settled in the municipality of Kviteseid in Telemark. He was married to painter Berit Marie Friestad from 1972 to 1990, and later lived with Kristine Brodersen. Nærbø
Nærbø is the largest village in Hå municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located in the district of Jæren, about half-way between the town of Bryne and the village of Varhaug. The village sits about south of Norway's fourth largest city, Stavanger. The village was the administrative centre of the old municipality of Nærbø from 1894 until 1964 when it was merged into Hå. The village has a population (2019) of 7,269 and a population density of . The Sørlandet Line, traditionally the Jæren Line, runs through the village, with the Jæren Commuter Rail service stopping at Nærbø Station, while the intercity service is accessible from nearby Bryne Station. Helge Torvund
Helge Torvund (born 20 August 1951) is a Norwegian psychologist, poet, essayist, literary critic and children's writer. He was born in Hå municipality and is brother of sculptor Gunnar Torvund. He made his literary debut in 1977 with ''Hendene i byen''. In 1989 he was awarded the Nynorsk Literature Prize for the poetry collection ''Den monotone triumf''. He received the Herman Wildenvey Poetry Award in 2016. From 2015 he has been writing monthly in the newspaper ''Klassekampen''. One of these articles has been translated and published by York Art Gallery as "Carnal Light". Kviteseid is a municipality in Telemark county, Norway. It is located in the traditional districts of Vest-Telemark and Upper Telemark. Telemark () is a Counties of Norway, county and a current electoral district in Norway. Telemark borders the counties of Vestfold, Buskerud, Vestland, Rogaland and Agder. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works. Early life, education and marriage He was born in Larvik as the son of school inspector Hermann Olai Helle (1893–1973) and teacher Berta Marie Malm (1906–1991). He was the older brother of politician Ingvar Lars Helle. The family moved to Hetland when Knut Helle was seventeen years old. He took the examen artium in Stavanger in 1949, and a teacher's education in Kristiansand in 1952. He studied philology in Oslo and Bergen, and graduated with the cand.philol. degree in 1957.
