Gukeng Township () is a rural township in the easternmost part of Yunlin County, Taiwan. It is the largest township in the county. Township (Taiwan)
Townships are the third-level administrative subdivisions of counties of the Republic of China (Taiwan), along with county-administered cities. After World War II, the townships were established from the following conversions on the Japanese administrative divisions: Although local laws do not enforce strict standards for classifying them, generally urban townships have a larger population and more business and industry than rural townships, but not to the extent of county-administered cities. Under townships, there is still the village as the fourth or basic level of administration. The Penglai Waterfall () is a waterfall in Gukeng, Yunlin, Gukeng Township, Yunlin County, Taiwan. Geology The waterfall is located in Shibi Valley. It is part of Jhugao River at Jhugao River basin. Located at an elevation of 1,200 meters above sea level, it spans over a height of 200 meters. Jiadong Walkway
Jiadong Township (also spelled Jiadung; ) is a rural township in Pingtung County, Taiwan. History Formerly called ''Katangkha'' ()., Jiadong Township was originally the residence of the Makatao people of Pingpu tribe. The first colonists that began arriving into Jiadong were ethnic Hakkas from northeastern Guangdong, establishing the town and ultimately assimilating the local native Makatao aborigines. Jiadong was the location of the Battle of Chiatung, an engagement in the Japanese invasion of Taiwan. The battle took place on the 11 October 1895, and ended in a Japanese victory and a defeat for the Republic of Formosa. In 1895 the township was described by James W. Davidson as a village "surrounded by a low stone wall loop-holed for rifle fire". He also describes "A body of water, which nearly surrounded the village". The Honey Museum () is a museum about honey and bees in Gukeng Township, Yunlin County, Taiwan. Architecture The entrance to the museum is through a green tunnel with a giant bee model above it. Coffee Bean
A coffee bean is a seed of the '' Coffea'' plant and the source for coffee. It is the pip inside the red or purple fruit often referred to as a coffee cherry. Just like ordinary cherries, the coffee fruit is also a so-called stone fruit. Even though the coffee beans are not technically beans, they are referred to as such because of their resemblance to true beans. Yunlin County
Yunlin County (Mandarin pinyin: ''Yúnlín Xiàn''; Taigi POJ: ''Hûn-lîm-koān''; Hakka PFS: ''Yùn-lìm-yen'') is a county in western Taiwan. Yunlin County borders the Taiwan Strait to the west, Nantou County to the east, Changhua County to the north at the Zhuoshui River, and Chiayi County to the south at the Beigang River.
