	Guinia, Niger Tanout is a town in southern Niger. It is in Zinder Region, Tanout Department, north of the city of Zinder. It is the administrative capital of Tanout Department. The town is also home to a historic mosque, the Grand Mosque of Tanout, which dates back to the 19th century and is considered a cultural and architectural landmark of the region. The predominant ethnic group in Tanout is the Hausa people, who predominantly practice Islam as their religion. History Since 1987, the Eden Foundation, an NGO aiming at providing trees for "direct seeding" to households in the surroundings, has been active in the town. 	Güinía De Miranda Güinía de Miranda, sometimes shortened as ''Güinía'', is a Cuban village and ''consejo popular'' ("people's council", i.e. hamlet) of the municipality of Manicaragua, in Villa Clara Province. It has a population of circa 3,000 and the council's administrative territory covers an area of 114.2 km². History Founded in 1536, at the end of the 16th century it was an estate depending from Sancti Spíritus. In 1862 Güinía was made up of 50 buildings and had a population of 300. Until 1976, it was part of the municipality of Fomento. Geography Güinía de Miranda is a hilltown surrounded by the Escambray Mountains, crossed by the provincial highway linking Manicaragua (18 km west) to Fomento (17 km east) and Cabaiguán (46 km east), both in the bordering Sancti Spíritus Province. 	Mahmoud Guinia Mahmoud Guinia (, and rarely or ; also spelled Gania, Guinea or Khania; 1951 – 2 August 2015) was a Morocco, Moroccan Gnawa musician, singer and sintir, guembri player, who was traditionally regarded as a Maâllem (), i.e. master. The family name is Gania, which also was the spelling in the passport of the artist. He recorded for both domestic and foreign recording company, labels, and collaborated with numerous western musicians. Life Mahmoud Gania (or Guinia) was born in 1951 in the city Essaouira on the Atlantic coast. He was the second son of the master of Gnawa music, Maâllem Boubker Gania (1927–2000) and the famous clairvoyant and "moqaddema" A'isha Qabral. His brother Mokhtar Gania - as well as his late brothers Abdellah Gania and Bilal "Lahcen Zitoune"- is a gnawa Maâllem too, and their sister Zaida Gania - and the late Jmeia Gania - is another moqqaddema.
