Aboriginal Peoples Television Network
The Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN, stylized aptn) is a Canadian specialty channel. Established in 1992 and maintained by governmental funding to broadcast in Canada's northern territories, APTN acquired a national broadcast licence in 1999. It airs and produces programs made by, for and about Indigenous peoples in Canada and the United States. DJ Shub
DJ Shub (Dan General) is a Mohawk DJ and music producer and member of the Six Nations of the Grand River. He has won numerous awards for his work as a former member of A Tribe Called Red, a DJ, and for solo pursuits. Career Shub began practising skills in his parents' basement, eventually winning the Canadian title at DJ competitions in 2007 and 2008. In 2012, he also represented Canada in the Redbull Thre3Style DJ competition in Chicago. DJ Shub has won numerous awards as a DJ including DMC Canada DJ Championship titles (2007 and 2008), a DMC Canadian Battle for Supremacy title (2008), a Canadian Red Bull Thre3style title (2012). The Canadian Comedy Awards (CCA) is an annual ceremony that awards the Beaver for achievements in Canadian comedy in live performance, radio, film, television, and Internet media. A tax credit is a tax incentive which allows certain taxpayers to subtract the amount of the credit they have accrued from the total they owe the state. It may also be a credit granted in recognition of taxes already paid or a form of state "discount" applied in certain cases. Another way to think of a tax credit is as a rebate. Refundable vs. non-refundable A refundable tax credit is one which, if the credit exceeds the taxes due, the government pays back to the taxpayer the difference. In other words, it makes possible a negative tax liability. For example, if a taxpayer has an initial tax liability of $100 and applies a $300 tax credit, then the taxpayer ends with a liability of –$200 and the government refunds to the taxpayer that $200. Leela Gilday is a Dene-Canadian singer songwriter, born and raised in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. She has released five solo albums since 2002, two of which have won the Juno Award for Indigenous Music Album of the Year. Early life Gilday was born and raised in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. She is the sister of singer-songwriter Jay Gilday. Gilday earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Alberta in 1997. She received an Alumni Horizon Award in 2004 and a Fleck Fellowship at the Banff Centre for the Arts in 2008. Career Gilday has released five solo albums to date. John Doyle (born 1957) is a Canadian writer who is a television critic at '' The Globe and Mail''. Early life John Doyle was born in 1957 in Nenagh, County Tipperary, Ireland, and came to Canada in 1980. Gary Dale Farmer (born June 12, 1953) is a Canadian actor and musician.
