Guddu, Pakistan
Guddu is a town in Sindh, Pakistan located about 10 km from Kashmore in the district of Kashmore, 650 km north of Karachi. Population of this town is 24,516 per 2017 Census of Pakistan. Vast reservoirs of natural gas were discovered at Sui, Balochistan in 1953 to pave the way for the development of a gigantic power system at Guddu, Sindh. Discovery of the natural gas and construction of a barrage across Indus River has transformed Guddu, Sindh, Pakistan into a modern town. The gas from Sui Gas Field has made it possible to develop Pakistan's one of the largest thermal generation complex Guddu Thermal Station. Plants for the construction of first phase of Guddu Power Project took off in 1969. 2017 Census Of Pakistan
The 2017 Census of Pakistan was a detailed enumeration of the Pakistani population which began on 15 March 2017 and ended on 25 May 2017. It was the first census taken in the country in the 21st century, nineteen years after the previous one in 1998, and it was carried out by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The census recorded a total population throughout the country of 213,222,917. The results showed a massive population increase having occurred between 1998 and 2017 of 77.0 million people, or an increase of +56.5%. The results also marked a significantly higher result compared to estimations made of the Pakistani population before the census, which had previously estimated the Pakistani population in 2017 to be between 195 million and 200 million. Sui Gas Field is a natural gas field near Sui in the Dera Bugti District of Balochistan, Pakistan, that is operated by Pakistan Petroleum Limited. Sui gas field was discovered in 1952, its current production is per day at standard conditions. Guddu Thermal Station
The Guddu Thermal Power Plant, also known by other names such as Central Power Generation Company Limited, and GENCO-II, is a thermal power station located in Guddu, Sindh, Pakistan. Built in the 1980s, the power plant was built with joint technical cooperation and financial assistance from the Soviet Union.
