Gudauta
Gudauta ( ka, გუდაუთა, ; , ''Gwdowtha''; , ''Gudauta'') is a town in Abkhazia, Georgia, and the capital of the eponymous district. It is situated on the Black Sea, 37 km northwest of Sokhumi, the capital of Abkhazia. It is the namesake for the Gudauta Bay. Air Base Gudauta used to be home to a Soviet Air Defence Forces base, Bombora airfield, where the 171st Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment flew Su-15TMs until 1982. The 171st Fighter Aviation Regiment was then transferred to Anadyr Ugolny Airport, Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. The 529th Fighter Aviation Regiment flew Su-27 'Flankers' from the base in the last years of the Cold War. This regiment was under the command of the 19th Army of the Air Defence Forces. Gudauta District
Gudauta District is a district of Abkhazia, Georgia (country), Georgia's breakaway republic. It corresponds to the eponymous Administrative divisions of Georgia (country), Georgian district. Its capital is Gudauta, the town by the same name. The population of the district was 34,869 at the time of the 2003 census, down from 57,334 in 1989. By the time of the 2011 Census, the population had increased to 36,775. Administration Lev Shamba was reappointed as Administration Head on 10 May 2001 following the March 2001 local elections. On 16 June 2003, Vladislav Ardzinba, President Vladislav Ardzinba assented to Shamba's request for dismissal and replaced him with First Deputy Minister for Education Beslan Dbar. Administrative Divisions Of Abkhazia
During the Soviet-era, the Abkhaz Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, Abkhaz ASSR was divided into six raions (districts) named after their respective capitals. The administrative divisions of the International recognition of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, disputed Republic of Abkhazia have stayed the same, with one exception: in 1995, Tkvarcheli District was created around the town of Tkvarcheli from parts of the Ochamchira District, Ochamchira and Gali District, Abkhazia, Gali districts. 345th Independent Guards Airborne Regiment
The 345th Guards Air Assault Red Banner Order of Suvorov Regiment (; MUN 33702) is a unit of the Russian Airborne Forces (VDV) and regiment of the 104th Guards Air Assault Division. Before 1992, it was part of the Soviet Airborne Forces. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, it was active in the Russian Armed Forces until 1998, when it was disbanded. The regiment was restored by a decision of the Russian Ministry of Defense in 2023. Ugolny Airport
Ugolny Airport () (also Leninka, Ugolnyye Kopi, Ugolnoye) is a mixed-use military and civil airfield in the Russian Far East located 11 km east of Anadyr (town), Anadyr, separated from the town by the waters of Anadyrsky Liman. The airfield was originally constructed in the 1950s as a staging base for Soviet Long Range Aviation, Long Range Aviation bombers such as the Tupolev Tu-95 and Tupolev Tu-22M.
