Guantian River
Guantian District () is a rural district (Republic of China), district in central Tainan, Taiwan. It is the hometown of former President of the Republic of China, Taiwanese President Chen Shui-bian. It hosts a population of 20,866 residents. History Guantian (官田) was formerly known as the "Guantian" (官佃). During Dutch rule of Taiwan, Dutch rule, this area belonged to the government as "Wang Tian" (王田). During Kingdom of Tungning, Ming Zheng rule, Wang Tian was changed to "Guantian", and the land was handed over to the civil and military officials, who can then recruit the farmers. Among them, the Chen Yonghua (Ming Zheng), Chen Yonghua family had the most commitments and gradually formed a Han Chinese settlement, hence the name "Guantian" (官佃). Wushantou Reservoir
Wushantou Reservoir (), sometimes spelled Wushanto or Wusanto, is a reservoir and scenic area located in Lioujia District and Guantian District of Tainan, Taiwan. It is also referred to as Coral Lake () due to its zigzagging shoreline. The reservoir was designed by engineer Yoichi Hatta and was the largest in Asia at the time of its completion in 1930. Provincial Highway 1 () is a -long Taiwanese provincial highway that starts in the north of the country near Taipei Main Station and ends in the south at Fangshan, Pingtung County.
