Gry Johansen
Gry Johansen-Meilstrup (known as Gry) (born 28 August 1964) is a Danish singer who represented her country in Eurovision Song Contest 1983. She performed the song " Kloden drejer" ("The planet's spinning"). The song was placed seventeenth out of twenty. Johansen made further bids for Eurovision glory when she participated in the Danish national selection contests in 1985, 1989 and 2000. However, she won on none of those occasions. The Eurovision Song Contest 1983 was the 28th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It was held in Munich, West Germany, following the country's victory at the with the song "" by Nicole. Although this was Germany's first victory, 1983 was the second time Germany had hosted the contest, having previously done so in . Kirsten & Søren, known internationally as Hot Eyes, were a Danish singing duo consisting of Kirsten Siggaard Andersen (born 7 September 1954 in Slagelse) and Søren Bundgaard Nielsen (born 4 March 1956 in Glostrup). Biography Kirsten was brought up in a traditional Christian family who sang in a church choir when she was young and later pursued a career deemed appropriate and desirable, working in a bank, where she met her husband, Jorgen. Søren was a musician, singer and composer, at that time a member of the Danish band Sir Henry. Both Sir Henry and Kirsten entered the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, which serves as the Danish pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC), in 1983.
