Top Hits (also known as TH) was a Venezuelan record label. Major artists such as Los Darts, José Luis Rodríguez, Conexión, Azucar, Escena, Cacao Y Leche, Oscar D'León, Rudy Marquez and David Beigbeder recorded for the label. It was also a distributor for mainstream Western artists. Background The label was founded and owned by Wilhelm Ricken who also presided over the Los Ruices, La Discoteca as well as the Cordica labels; Discomoda and Antor. The label was responsible for José Luis's LP going to no. 1 in various South American countries as well as their Top Five sales lists. It even made an impression in some US territories. In his Latin Notas section column in the March 22, 1986, issue of ''Billboard'', Enrique Fernandez called the label powerful and independent. Essex entertainment Inc. who became the owners of the Buddah Records, Inc. and Kama Sutra Records, Inc. catalogues published a notice in the November 9, 1991, issue of ''Billboard'' which included Discos Top Hi ...

Oscar D'León
Óscar Emilio León Simosa (born July 11, 1943), known as Oscar D'León, and affectionately called ''The Pharaoh of Salsa'', ''The Lion of Salsa'', and the ''World's Sonero'', is a Venezuelan musician and bassist best known for his salsa music. He is the author of "Llorarás", which he recorded in 1974 with his group, Dimensión Latina. He is also an ambassador for Operation Smile. Early life Oscar D'León was a long-time resident of the Parroquia Antímano section of Caracas, Venezuela (his father was a laborer at the neighborhood cemetery). Moluccans are the Melanesian- Austronesian and Papuan-speaking ethnic groups indigenous to the Maluku Islands (also called the Moluccas). Massada (band)
Massada was a Dutch band that had a funk, rock and pop background with Latin influences. They had several hits in the Netherlands, such as "", "Dansa (Don't Quit Dancing)" in 1978, "Unknown Destination" in 1979, "Feelin' Lonely", "Sajang é" and "I Never Had A Love Like This Before" in 1980. Tommy Olivencia (May 15, 1938 – September 22, 2006) was a renowned Puerto Rican bandleader of salsa music. Early years Olivencia (birth name: Ángel Tomás Olivencia Pagán) was born in the Villa Palmeras section of Santurce, San Juan, Puerto Rico. His family moved to the city of Arecibo when he was just a child. There received his primary and secondary education. Mirla Castellanos, is a noted Venezuelan singer with a career spanning over 40 years. Often referred to as "La Primerísima", she started her career as a singer with the band "Cuarteto Los Naipes" in the 1960s before pursuing a solo career.
