Growler Mine Area
The Growler Mine Area is a historic Mining, mine located in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument west of the Bates Well Ranch. History The Growler mine site "at one time featured a boarding house, three boilers, an Ingersol-Rand air compressor, and two steam hoists." The area was first mined by Frederick Wall who named the mine after John Growler, his friend. The mine reached peak production , and ceased in 1917. Attempts to restart production were halted by rising groundwater in the mineshafts, high cost, and the low price of ore. The Growler mine claims yielded "a total of 12,000 pounds of copper, 2 ounces of gold, and 200 ounces of silver with a sum value of $2,000". Growler had a store and office building, which were in ruins by the 1960s. Around 1928, the ghost town and mine were purchased by Charles Greer and his step-father Bert Long, of Ajo, Arizona, Ajo. The M1161 Growler is officially the Internally Transportable Light Strike Vehicle (ITV-LSV) designed specifically for use with the Osprey tiltrotor aircraft. The M1161 and M1163 were the only tactical vehicles certified to fly in the . A growler (US) () is a glass, ceramic, or stainless steel bottle used to transport draft beer. They are commonly sold at brewery, breweries and brewpubs as a means to sell take-out craft beer. Rarely, beers are bottled in growlers for retail sale. The significant growth of Microbrewery, craft breweries and the growing popularity of home brewing has also led to an emerging market for the sale of collectible growlers. Some U.S. grocery stores, convenience stores, bars and restaurants have growler filling stations. A crowler (portmanteau of "canned growler") is a fillable and machine-sealable beer can. Lyonheart K
The Lyonheart K is a proposed British-built grand tourer based on Jaguar XK running gear. It was planned to be unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show as a development of the 2011 concept Vizualtech Growler E and is a reinterpretation of the Jaguar E-Type. The unveiling of the K was delayed and was not shown at the scheduled 2014 Geneva Motor Show following plans to change the platform and engine to the newer Jaguar F-Type. Sales were scheduled to commence in 2015. The K was to be manufactured in Coventry by the newly created Lyonheart Cars company, owned by Swiss-based Classic Factory. Up until late 2015 there was no evidence that the company had built either a prototype or any other touchable or viewable artefact. Clarence (carriage)
A clarence is a type of carriage that was popular in the early 19th century. It is a closed, four-wheeled horse-drawn vehicle with a projecting glass front and seats for four passengers inside. The driver sat at the front, outside the carriage. The clarence was named after Prince William, Duke of Clarence and St Andrews, later King William IV of the United Kingdom, who died in 1837. It was introduced in 1840 in London. The Brougham was a lighter, two-passenger version originally commissioned by Lord Brougham. In time, second-hand clarences came to be used as hackney carriages, earning the nickname ''growler'' from the sound they made on London's cobbled streets. The British Rail Class 37 is a Diesel locomotive, diesel–electric locomotive. Also known as the English Electric Type 3, the class was ordered as part of the British Rail Modernisation Plan, British Rail modernisation plan. They were numbered in two series, D6600–D6608 and D6700–D6999. The Class 37 became a familiar sight on many parts of the British Rail network, in particular forming the main motive power for InterCity (British Rail), InterCity services in East Anglia and within Scotland. The Boeing EA-18G Growler is an American carrier-based electronic warfare aircraft, a specialized version of the two-seat Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet. The EA-18G replaced the Northrop Grumman EA-6B Prowlers in service with the United States Navy. The Growler's electronic warfare capability is primarily provided by Northrop Grumman. The EA-18G began production in 2007 and entered operational service with the US Navy in late 2009. The Avro Shackleton was a British long-range maritime patrol aircraft (MPA) which was used by the Royal Air Force (RAF) and the South African Air Force (SAAF). It was developed by Avro from their Lincoln bomber, which itself had been a development of the famous wartime Lancaster bomber. The Shackleton was developed during the late 1940s as part of Britain's military response to the rapid expansion of the Soviet Navy, in particular its submarine force.
