Grover C. Nash
Grover Cleveland Nash (1911 – 1970) was the first black pilot to fly the mail for the US Postal Service, taking the role in May of 1938 to fly mail between Chicago and nearby towns. He was first issued a pilot's license in 1938 and was a member of the Challenger Air Pilot's Association in Chicago and a founding member of the National Airmen's Association of America. An aircraft pilot or aviator is a person who controls the flight of an aircraft by operating its directional flight controls. Some other aircrew members, such as navigators or flight engineers, are also considered aviators because they are involved in operating the aircraft's navigation and engine systems. Harry Hopkins
Harold Lloyd Hopkins (August 17, 1890 – January 29, 1946) was an American statesman, public administrator, and presidential advisor. A trusted deputy to President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Hopkins directed New Deal relief programs before serving as the eighth United States secretary of commerce from 1938 to 1940 and as Roosevelt's chief foreign policy advisor and liaison to Allied leaders during World War II. During his career, Hopkins supervised the New York Temporary Emergency Relief Administration, the Federal Emergency Relief Administration, the Civil Works Administration, and the Works Progress Administration, which he built into the largest employer in the United States.
