The Grote Prijs Beerens is an elite women's professional one-day road bicycle race held annually in Aartselaar, Belgium. The event was first held in 2021 is currently rated by the UCI as a 1.1 category race. The first edition was originally planned to take place in 2020 as a 1.2 category race, but was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Aartselaar (, old spelling: ''Aertselaer'') is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality only comprises the town of Aartselaar proper. In 2021, Aartselaar had a total population of 14,455. The total area is 10.93 km². The municipality of Aartselaar is located in the southern outskirts of Antwerp. Road bicycle racing is the cycle sport discipline of road cycling, held primarily on paved roads. Road racing is the most popular professional form of bicycle racing, in terms of numbers of competitors, events and spectators. The two most common competition formats are mass start events, where riders start simultaneously (though sometimes with a handicap) and race to a set finish point; and time trials, where individual riders or teams race a course alone against the clock. Thalita de Jong (born 6 November 1993) is a Dutch racing cyclist, who currently rides for Dutch amateur team JEGG–DJR Academy. In 2016, de Jong won the elite women's title at the Dutch National Cyclo-cross Championships, the UEC European Cyclo-cross Championships and the UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships.
