The Jefferson County School System is the second-largest public school system in Alabama, United States. It is the third oldest school system in Jefferson County preceded only by the Birmingham and Bessemer School Systems. The Jefferson County School System was created in 1896, and initially served all unincorporated communities and cities in the county other than Birmingham and Bessemer. Beginning in the late 1960s and early 1970s various other cities began to establish their own separate systems (i.e., Homewood, Midfield, Vestavia Hills, Hoover, etc.). Today the County system serves students in those unincorporated areas of Jefferson County, Alabama such as Alliance, Bagley, Concord, Corner, Forestdale, McCalla, Minor, Mt. Olive, and Oak Grove. Fountain City is a neighborhood in northern Knoxville, Tennessee, in the southeastern United States. Although not a census-designated place (it is grouped with Knoxville for census-purposes), the populations of the two ZIP codes that serve Fountain City— 37918 and 37912— were 36,815 and 18,695, respectively, as of the 2000 U.S. census. Gresham High School (other)
Gresham High School is a public high school located in Gresham, Oregon, United States. History Gresham High School opened in 1906. There have since been several improvements to grounds and buildings, expansions, and classroom additions. In 1971, the original grandstands, made completely of wood, burned to the ground in less than 30 minutes. In 2016 the Gresham-Barlow School District and the voters of Gresham passed a bond to replace most parts of the school, with construction beginning in 2018. The project was completed in 2021. Until the recent remodel, the school still had asbestos tiling and pipe insulation throughout the building and numerous architectural faults. Academics Gresham High is an official International Baccalaureate school offering the IB Diploma Program. In 2008, 81% of the school's seniors received a high school diploma. Gresham's School
Gresham's School is a public school (English independent day and boarding school) in Holt, Norfolk, England, one of the top thirty International Baccalaureate schools in England. The school was founded in 1555 by Sir John Gresham as a free grammar school for forty boys, following King Henry VIII's dissolution of Beeston Priory. The founder left the school's endowments in the hands of the Worshipful Company of Fishmongers of the City of London, who are still the school's trustees. In the 1890s, an increase in the rental income of property in the City of London led to a major expansion of the school, which built many new buildings on land it owned on the eastern edge of Holt, including several new boarding houses as well as new teaching buildings, library and chapel. Gresham's began to admit girls in 1971 and is now fully co-educational.
