Gregory Rockman

	Gregory Rockman Gregory Rockman (born 29 January 1959) is a South African politician and former policeman who founded the Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union (POPCRU) and served as its inaugural president from 1989 to 1994. After that he represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly from 1994 to 2000. Rockman was a lieutenant in the apartheid-era South African Police in Mitchells Plain until September 1989, when he came forward to corroborate allegations of police brutality against anti-apartheid protestors. His claims led to criminal charges against two white officers and contributed to public pressure for police and political reform in South Africa. He founded POPCRU in November 1989 for other dissident policemen and continued to lead it after he was fired from the police force for his political activity in March 1990. 	Adriaan Vlok Adriaan Johannes Vlok (11 December 1937 – 8 January 2023) was a South African politician. He was Minister of Law and Order in South Africa from 1986 to 1991 in the final years of the apartheid era. Facing increasingly intense opposition and political unrest in this period, the South African government – through the State Security Council of which Vlok was a member – planned and implemented drastic repressive measures, including hit squads, carrying out bombings and assassination of anti-apartheid activists. 	Henry Fazzie Henry Mutile Fazzie (3 January 1924 – August 2011) was a South African politician who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly until 2009. He was an early member of Umkhonto we Sizwe and from 1965 was imprisoned on Robben Island for 12 years for his political activities. He was detained again in the 1980s for his continued anti-apartheid activism through the United Democratic Front and civics movement.
