Greg Long (singer)
Greg Long (born December 12, 1966) is an American contemporary Christian music solo artist and also a member of the contemporary Christian pop group Avalon. Background Long was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He began singing at the age of 2, in his father's revivals.Bailey, Mike (July 17, 1997). As a solo artist, Long has had eight songs reach No. 1 on the Contemporary Christian charts: "How Long?" Aberdeen () is a city in and the county seat of Brown County, South Dakota, United States. As of the 2020 census, its population was 28,495. making it the third-most populous city in the state. Aberdeen is home of Northern State University. Michael Passons
Michael Passons is an American singer-songwriter and the founding member of the Christian band Avalon. Biography Michael Passons was born and raised in Yazoo City, Mississippi, and as a toddler, began to sing and play piano. As a young musician, Passons was influenced by music from the small country church where his family attended, and also popular mainstream singer/piano player artists like Elton John and Lionel Richie. Michael went on to attend Mississippi College where he graduated with a degree in classical piano. He joined a college band his senior year, and after graduating, toured nationally several summers with a New Jersey–based band. Passons moved to Nashville in 1990 and began working with fellow musicians. ''The Columbian'' is a daily newspaper serving the Vancouver, Washington, and Clark County, Washington area. It is owned by the Campbell family and is the newspaper of record for Vancouver and Washougal. History Tom Carolan first published the ''Vancouver Columbian'' on October 10, 1890. He started the paper with S. D. Dennis as a means to promote the Democratic Party and act as counterweight to the local Republican newspaper ''The Vancouver Independent''. Avalon Worship, originally known as Avalon, is an American contemporary Christian vocal quartet from Nashville and was formed in 1995. The group has earned multiple RIAA-certified gold records. The group consists of Janna Long, Greg Long, Jody McBrayer, and Dani Rocca. Group history 1995–97 Avalon was formed in 1995 in Nashville after Norman Miller of Proper Management took the idea of beginning a vocal group to Grant Cunningham, A&R Director at Sparrow Records. Cunningham attended an artist showcase in Nashville where he heard singer Michael Passons and made him the first Avalon member. Former Truth vocalist and South Carolina native Janna Potter (later Janna Long) became the group's second member.
