Greg Jones (baseball, Born 1998)
Gregory Jones Jr. (born March 7, 1998) is an American professional baseball outfielder and shortstop in the Houston Astros organization. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Colorado Rockies and Chicago White Sox. Early life Jones was born in Cary, North Carolina. He is the son of Tammy and Greg Jones. Jones attended Cary High School in Cary, North Carolina. Amateur career As a senior at Cary High School, he batted .429 with 18 stolen bases. He was ranked sixth in North Carolina and 133rd nationally by ''Perfect Game''. He was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 17th round of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft, but did not sign. He instead chose to attend the University of North Carolina Wilmington where he played college baseball. In 2018, as a freshman with the UNC Wilmington Seahawks, Jones played and started sixty games, batting .278 with four home runs, 21 runs batted in (RBIs), and 16 stolen bases. Shortstop, abbreviated SS, is the baseball positions, baseball or softball fielding position between second base, second and third base, which is considered to be among the Defensive spectrum, most demanding defensive positions. 2017 Major League Baseball Draft
The 2017 Major League Baseball draft began on June 12, 2017. The draft assigned amateur baseball players to MLB teams. The first 36 picks, including the first round and compensatory picks, were broadcast on MLB Network on June 12, while the remainder of the draft was live streamed on MLB.com on June 13 and 14. Hudson Valley Renegades
The Hudson Valley Renegades are a Minor League Baseball team based in Fishkill, New York. The High-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, the Renegades play in the South Atlantic League. At-bats
In baseball, an at bat (AB) or time at bat is a batter's turn batting against a pitcher. An at bat is different from a plate appearance. A batter is credited with a plate appearance regardless of what happens upon completion of his turn at bat, but a batter is charged with an at bat only if that plate appearance does not have one of the results enumerated below. The Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL or Cape League) is a collegiate summer baseball wooden bat league located on Cape Cod in the U.S. state of Massachusetts.
