Greg Humphreys
Greg Humphreys is an American singer, guitarist and songwriter based in New York City who performs solo and as bandleader of Dillon Fence, Hobex and The Greg Humphreys Electric Trio. Early life Greg was born and raised in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. His mother was an art teacher and his attorney father was a folk musician, spurring Greg's own artistic creativity from a very early age. While a student at Richard J. Reynolds High School, Greg and his classmate, Chris Goode, formed a band called "Trash" that eventually evolved into Dillon Fence. Career Dillon Fence, for which Greg was the principal songwriter, vocalist and guitarist, began while Greg was enrolled at the University of North Carolina in the late 1980s. The band released three full-length albums and several EPs on its own and via Mammoth Records and developed a cult following throughout North Carolina. The Pour House Music Hall
The Pour House Music Hall (also known as The Pour House) is a music venue located in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Pour House was opened in 1997 by Eric Mullen but eventually changed hands in 2012 to current owner Adam Lindstaedt. For a brief period in 2011 Mullen had opened up a second location in Wilmington, North Carolina with some business partners but after a few months they severed ties and the Wilmington venue was renamed The Port City Theatre. History The Pour House was opened in 1997 by Eric Mullen and two of his friends who Mullen eventually bought out. When the venue was originally opened it was a sofa-bar featuring live jazz with the music as background entertainment. They had 30 beers on tap and didn't serve any liquor. William Bell (singer)
William Bell ( ''né'' Yarbrough; born July 16, 1939) is an American soul singer and songwriter. As a performer, he is best known for his debut single, 1961's " You Don't Miss Your Water"; 1968's top 10 hit in the UK " Private Number", a duet with Judy Clay; and his only US top 40 hit, 1976's " Tryin' to Love Two", which also hit No. 1 on the R&B chart. Upon the death of Otis Redding, Bell released the well-received memorial song "A Tribute to a King". As a songwriter, Bell co-authored the Chuck Jackson hit "Any Other Way" (which was a cover since Bell issued it first) as a follow-up to "You Don't Miss Your Water"; Billy Idol's 1986 hit " To Be a Lover", which was first a hit for Bell under its original title "I Forgot to Be Your Lover"; and the blues classic " Born Under A Bad Sign", popularized by both Albert King and Cream.
