Greg Childs
Gregory Stuart Childs is a British Children's Media consultant. Career He was the producer of the British television show, ''Record Breakers'', for ten years from 1988 to 1998. In 1998 he launched the first internet services for Children's BBC and in 2001, he headed the launch team for the BBC Children's channels, CBBC and CBeebies, while also supporting the launch of interactive television services associated with those brands. In 2004, Childs became an independent consultant in children's cross-media content and delivery. He went on to co-found the Showcomotion Children's Media Conference which took place each summer in Sheffield (2004–2009). In 2010 this became thChildren's Media Conferencewhich continues annually in July. A media consultant is a marketing agent or public relations executive that is hired by businesses or political candidates to obtain positive press coverage. Media consultants usually draft press releases to highlight positive achievements of a business, organization, or individual, and prepare subjects for interviews with the media. Record Breakers
''Record Breakers'' was a British children's TV show, themed around world records and produced by the BBC. It was broadcast on BBC1 from 15 December 1972 to 21 December 2001. Format The programme was a spin-off series from '' Blue Peter'' which had featured record breaking attempts overseen by the McWhirter twins. As well as interviews with people who held British or World records, early editions of the programme would include a feature in which the studio audience would test the McWhirter brothers on their (almost infallible) knowledge of records, and the climax of each show would usually be a world record attempt in the studio. CBBC is a British free-to-air public broadcast children's television channel owned and operated by the BBC. It is also the brand used for all BBC content for children aged 6 to 12.
