Greg Carey (ice Hockey)
Greg Carey (born April 5, 1990) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played in the American Hockey League (AHL). Playing career Carey began playing junior hockey with the Burlington Cougars of the OJHL. After returning from a four-game suspension in 2009, Carey recorded five points in an 8–2 win over the Milton Icehawks to help the Cougars set a new franchise record for most wins. He was also selected for Team Canada East and the CCHL All Star Team. After graduating from St. Thomas More Secondary School and going undrafted in the NHL Entry Draft, Carey played college hockey with the St. Lawrence Saints in the NCAA Men's Division I ECAC Hockey conference. In his freshman season, Carey became the first rookie to lead the Saints in scoring since 1982 and was named to the ECAC All Rookie Team. He was also named the Saints Rookie of the Year. Lehigh Valley Phantoms
The Lehigh Valley Phantoms are a professional ice hockey team based in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The team competes in the American Hockey League (AHL) and serves as the primary development team for the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League. The Phantoms have been the top minor league affiliate for the Flyers since the 1996–97 season, playing in Philadelphia as the Philadelphia Phantoms from 1996 until 2009, then in Glens Falls, New York, as the Adirondack Phantoms from 2010 until 2013, and in Allentown as the Lehigh Valley Phantoms since 2014. Gwinnett County ( ) is located in the north central portion of the U.S. state of Georgia. It forms part of the Atlanta metropolitan area, being located about northeast of Atlanta city limits. Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League
The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) is a Junior A ice hockey league in Ontario, Canada. It is under the supervision of the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) and the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL). The league dates back to 1954 where it began as the "Central Junior B Hockey League". In 1993, the Central Junior B Hockey League was promoted to the Junior A level and renamed the "Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League". In 2009, the league was dissolved by the Ontario Hockey Association and split into two leagues: the "Central Canadian Hockey League" and the "Ontario Junior A Hockey League". By early 2010, the two leagues merged to reform the Ontario Junior Hockey League. A penalty in ice hockey is a punishment for an infringement of the rules. Most penalties are enforced by sending the offending player to a penalty box for a set number of minutes. During the penalty the player may not participate in play. Penalties are called and enforced by the Official (ice hockey)#Referees, referee, or in some cases, the Official (ice hockey)#Linesmen, linesman. The offending team may not replace the player on the ice (although there are some exceptions, such as fighting), leaving them short handed, short-handed as opposed to full strength. Assist (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, an assist is attributed to up to two players of the scoring team who shot, passed or deflected the Puck (sports)#In ice hockey, puck towards the scoring teammate, or touched it in any other way which enabled the Goal (ice hockey), goal, meaning that they were "assisting" in the goal. There can be a maximum of two assists per goal. In ice hockey, a goal is scored when the puck entirely crosses the goal line between the two goal posts and below the goal crossbar. A goal awards one point to the team attacking the goal scored upon, regardless of which team the player who actually deflected the puck into the goal belongs to (see also own goal). Typically, a player on the team attempting to score shoots the puck with their stick towards the goal net opening, and a player on the opposing team called a goaltender tries to block the shot to prevent a goal from being scored against their team. Matthew Carey (born February 28, 1992) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward. He is currently on the Norfolk Admirals in the ECHL. He has previously played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Chicago Blackhawks. Playing career Upon completion of his freshman season with St. Lawrence University in the ECAC, Carey signed as an undrafted free agent to a two-year entry-level contract with the Chicago Blackhawks on March 20, 2014. On March 28, 2014, Carey made his NHL debut with the Blackhawks in the 2013–14 season, in a 5–3 loss to the Ottawa Senators. In his debut game, Carey registered 2 penalty minutes, and ended the night with a minus-1 rating. Carey scored his first NHL goal on April 12, 2014 against Pekka Rinne of the Nashville Predators. HC Pustertal Wölfe – Val Pusteria Wolves are an Italian professional ice hockey team from Bruneck, Italy. As of the 2021–22 season, the team plays in the ICE Hockey League (ICEHL). They formerly played in the Alps Hockey League and Serie A. Team history The team was founded in 1954 as "EV Bruneck MAK" and played the first season in the Serie B in 1966. They won the championship in 1967–68 and 1968–69, but could not move up to the Seria A because their stadium was unfit for the top series.
