Greenhill Road
Greenhill Road is a major road in Adelaide, South Australia, that provides a connection to the eastern and hills suburbs. Its western section, running along the south side of Adelaide Parklands, forms part of Adelaide's City Ring Route. Route The eastern end of Greenhill Road is in Balhannah in the Adelaide Hills. It winds through Carey Gully, Uraidla, Summertown and Greenhill as a two-lane road. In the metropolitan area, it is four lanes and passes by the City of Burnside suburbs of Burnside, Hazelwood Park, Linden Park, Tusmore, Toorak Gardens, Dulwich and Glenside until it reaches the edge of the Adelaide Parklands. The road then expands to six lanes and heads past Eastwood and the City of Unley suburbs of Parkside, Unley and Wayville as part of the City Ring Route. Adelaide has two city ring routes, that loop around the Adelaide city centre and North Adelaide, known as the Inner and Outer Ring Routes. Inner ring route The Inner Ring Route is a collection of major roads signposted as state route R1 (was A21 before 2017). Parkside is an inner southern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It is located in the City of Unley. History The suburb was once home to the mental health campus of the Royal Adelaide Hospital. Known as 'The Parkside Asylum', it was the primary mental health facility in the state, and occupied approximately one-third of the suburb's area. Parkside Post Office opened on 10 December 1859 and was renamed Eastwood in 1967. Geography Parkside lies on the southern boundary of the southern park lands. City Of Unley
The City of Unley is a local government area in the Adelaide metropolitan region, South Australia. It is located directly south of the Adelaide city centre. The Corporate Town of Unley was created in 1871, when 2,000 signatories to a petition from residents of the several towns of Unley, Parkside, Black Forest, Goodwood and Fullarton requested the Governor allow them to form their own municipality and thus sever from the District Council of Mitcham. Tusmore is a suburb in the inner east of Adelaide, South Australia. History In 1839, a pastoralist William Rogers, settled in the area and named his land ''Tusmore'' after his birthplace in Tusmore, Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire, England. In 1911 the area roughly corresponding to modern-day Tusmore, known as Section 291, was owned by the Colonial Board of Advice of the South Australian Company.
