Green Ronin Publishing is an American company based in Seattle, Washington. Founded in 2000 by Chris Pramas and Nicole Lindroos, they have published several role-playing game–related products. They won several awards for their games including multiple Origins, ENnie, Pen & Paper, and Inquest Fan Awards. History In early 1996, Chris Pramas secured the rights to '' The Whispering Vault'' from Mike Nystul as he was leaving the game industry, and together with his brother Jason Pramas and their friend Neal Darcy, the three of them founded the company Ronin Publishing. This initial company published two role playing game supplements, ''The Book of Hunts'' (1997) for ''The Whispering Vault'' and '' Blood of the Valiant'' for ''Feng Shui''. Player's Handbook
The ''Player's Handbook'' (spelled ''Players Handbook'' in first edition ''Advanced Dungeons & Dragons'' (''AD&D'')) is the name given to one of the core rulebooks in every edition of the fantasy role-playing game ''Dungeons & Dragons'' (''D&D''). It does not contain the complete set of rules for the game, and only includes rules for use by players of the game. Additional rules, for use by Dungeon Masters (DMs), who referee the game, can be found in the ''Dungeon Master's Guide''. Many optional rules, such as those governing extremely high-level players, and some of the more obscure spells, are found in other sources. ''Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay'' or ''Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play'' (abbreviated to ''WFRP'' or ''WHFRP'') is a role-playing game set in the ''Warhammer Fantasy (setting), Warhammer Fantasy'' setting, published by Games Workshop or its licensees. The ''Pathfinder Roleplaying Game'' is a fantasy role-playing game (RPG) that was published in 2009 by Paizo Publishing. The first edition extends and modifies the System Reference Document (SRD) based on the revised 3rd edition ''Dungeons & Dragons'' (''D&D'') published by Wizards of the Coast under the Open Game License (OGL) and is intended to be backward-compatible with that edition. A new version of the game, ''Pathfinder Second Edition'', was released in August 2019. ''Deadlands'' is a genre-mixing alternate history role-playing game which combines the Western and horror genres, with some steampunk elements. The original game was written by Shane Lacy Hensley and published by Pinnacle Entertainment Group in 1996. Pinnacle Entertainment Group is a publisher of role-playing games and wargames. History Shane Lacy Hensley wanted to create a 19th-century miniatures game so he contacted the company Chameleon Eclectic to get the game published. As a result '' Fields of Honor: The American War for Independence'' (1994) was published in partnership with Chameleon Eclectic, which dealt with functions such as distribution, while ownership of the game stayed with a new company that founded by Hensley named Pinnacle Entertainment Group. Steve Kenson
Steve Kenson (born June 16, 1969) is a writer and designer of role-playing games (RPGs) and related fiction. Career Steve Kenson began working as an author and game designer in 1995. Kenson co-wrote the super-hero role-playing game '' Silver Age Sentinels'', which was published by Guardians of Order in 2002. As he worked on the game, Kenson also created a setting called Freedom City to be used with ''Silver Age Sentinels'', but when he pitched the setting to Guardians of Order they were not interested. Chris Pramas of Green Ronin Publishing asked Kenson to design a new d20-based superhero role-playing game, so Kenson developed '' Mutants & Masterminds'' in 2002 and his '' Freedom City'' setting was published in 2003. ''Mutants & Masterminds'' (abbreviated "M&M" or "MnM") is a superhero role-playing game written by Steve Kenson and published by Green Ronin Publishing based on a variant of the d20 System by Wizards of the Coast. The game system is designed to allow players to create virtually any type of hero or villain desired. The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets is a rock band from Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada. Their music largely consists of often tongue-in-cheek homages to the works of H. P. Lovecraft, specifically the Cthulhu Mythos. History Band formation (1992) The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets formed in January 1992 after meeting at Fraser Valley College in Abbotsford, British Columbia. Lead singer Toren Atkinson and lead guitarist Warren Banks formed the band so they could open for local group Mystery Machine. Even though they "had no musical training or experience" they were able to create a three song set list and play the opening act for their first show. The band's name is drawn from a phrase in Lovecraft's story ''The Tomb'': "I will tell only of the lone tomb in the darkest of the hillside thickets".
