Kyle Rayner (), one of the characters known as Green Lantern, is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character is depicted as being associated with the Green Lantern Corps, an extraterrestrial police force of which he has been a member. Rayner has been adapted into various media outside comics, including animated series and video games. He has been voiced by Michael P. Greco, Will Friedle, Josh Keaton, and John Rubinow. Publication history Created by writer Ron Marz and artist Darryl Banks, and named after a character from James Cameron's film ''The Terminator'', Kyle Rayner first appeared in ''Green Lantern'' vol. 3, #48 (1994), as part of the "Emerald Twilight" storyline, in which DC Comics replaced Green Lantern Hal Jordan with Kyle, who was the sole Green Lantern throughout the late 1990s and into the mid-2000s in a very successful run that rejuvenated the Green Lantern franchise. Darryl Banks is an American comic book artist. He worked on one of the first painted comic books, ''Cyberpunk'', and teamed with the writer Mark Ellis (American author), Mark Ellis to revamp the long-running ''Justice Machine, The Justice Machine'' series for two publishers, Innovation Publishing, Innovation and Millennium Publications, Millennium.
