Green European Journal
The ''Green European Journal'' is an online and biannual print magazine that publishes analysis, debates, and interviews on political ecology, current affairs, and topics of significance to the green movement. The journal is published in English and offers translations in 21 languages. Overview The magazine was established in 2012, with the objective of providing a venue for European-level debate amongst the green movement in Europe. Supported by the European Parliament., the Green European Journal is linked to but editorially independent from the Green European Foundation. Although based in Brussels, Belgium, the magazine covers analysis on a European-wide context. It has various partner organisations and publications in different European countries, including Bright Green, Krytyka Polityczna, and the Heinrich Böll Foundation, among others. Agriculture
Agriculture or farming is the practice of cultivating plants and livestock. Agriculture was the key development in the rise of sedentary human civilization, whereby farming of domesticated species created food surpluses that enabled people to live in cities. The history of agriculture began thousands of years ago. After gathering wild grains beginning at least 105,000 years ago, nascent farmers began to plant them around 11,500 years ago. Sheep, goats, pigs and cattle were domesticated over 10,000 years ago. Plants were independently cultivated in at least 11 regions of the world. Industrial agriculture based on large-scale monoculture in the twentieth century came to dominate agricultural output, though about 2 billion people still depended on subsistence agriculture. David Graeber
David Rolfe Graeber (; February 12, 1961September 2, 2020) was an American anthropologist and anarchist activist. His influential work in economic anthropology, particularly his books '' Debt: The First 5,000 Years'' (2011) and '' Bullshit Jobs'' (2018), and his leading role in the Occupy movement, earned him recognition as one of the foremost anthropologists and left-wing thinkers of his time. Born in New York to a working-class Jewish family, Graeber studied at Purchase College and the University of Chicago, where he conducted ethnographic research in Madagascar under Marshall Sahlins and obtained his doctorate in 1996. Joseph Martin "Joschka" Fischer (born 12 April 1948) is a German retired politician of the Alliance 90/The Greens. He served as the foreign minister and as the vice-chancellor of Germany in the cabinet of Gerhard Schröder from 1998 to 2005. Daniel Marc Cohn-Bendit (; ; born 4 April 1945) is a French-German politician of Jewish descent. He was a student leader during the unrest of May 1968 in France and was also known during that time as ''Dany le Rouge'' (French for "Danny the Red", because of both his politics and the colour of his hair). Ulrike Beate Guérot (born 1964 in Grevenbroich, Germany) is a Berlin-based German political thinker and Founder and Director of the European Democracy Lab (EDL). Rosi Braidotti (; born 28 September 1954) is a contemporary philosopher and feminist theoretician.
