Green Country Roller Girls
The Green Country Roller Girls was a women's flat track roller derby league based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Founded in 2006, the league consisted of two teams which competed in interleague games. Green Country began bouting soon after forming, and played its first home bout against the Big Easy Rollergirls in May 2007. Green Country Roller Girls was a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) and their All Stars team played in WFTDA sanctioned games that counted towards national rankings. In 2011, Tulsa qualified for the WFTDA South Central Regional Tournament for the only time. South Central Region (WFTDA)
The Women's Flat Track Derby Association's South Central Region was formed in 2008 when WFTDA changed from having just two regional tournaments (East and West), to five, made up of teams from four regions: East, North Central, South Central and West. For 2011, the region was expanded, taking in leagues from Nebraska and New Mexico. WFTDA has now moved away from the Big 5 WFTDA Championships qualification tournament structure, last competed in 2012. WFTDA Championships
The International Women's Flat Track Derby Association Championships ("WFTDA Championships" or "Champs" for short) are the leading competition for roller derby leagues. The Championships are organised by the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). They originated in 2006 as the National WFTDA Championship. The "Dust Devil" tournament was contested in front of several thousand fans in Tucson, Arizona. Women's Flat Track Derby Association Rankings
Rankings for the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) are used to determine placement in overall standings (rather than win–loss record) and also to determine seedings at WFTDA Playoffs. Achieving high rankings is also a goal for teams aiming to increase their stature in the organization. Each year at the end of June, teams are seeded into Division 1 and Division 2 playoff tournaments. Historically, the top 40 teams in the WFTDA as of June 30 were eligible for Division 1 tournaments that season, and the teams ranked 41–60 were eligible for Division 2 tournaments. For 2017, the Division 1 cutoff was reduced to the top 36 teams, with the next 16 teams qualifying for Division 2 Playoffs.
