Greater Shepparton Secondary College
Greater Shepparton Secondary College (GSSC) is a public secondary college in Shepparton, Victoria, Australia. It opened in 2020 as an amalgamation of four of the region's previous high schools. The school's main campus is located on the former site of Shepparton High School, and was opened in 2022. History The GSSC was created from the Shepparton Education plan. This was a result of lower educational outcomes from students in the Shepparton region when compared to similar schools across Victoria. The school officially opened in 2020 by taking over the four public high schools located in Shepparton and nearby Mooroopna. The four schools amalgamated were Shepparton High School, McGuire College, Wanganui Park Secondary College and Mooroopna Secondary College. During the construction of the main GSSC campus, students attended their classes at the sites of the previous high schools, depending upon their year level and classes. Shepparton High School (SHS) was a public high school in Shepparton, Victoria, Australia. It opened in 1909 as Shepparton Agricultural High School – the first high school in Shepparton and one of the first public high schools in Victoria. It closed in December 2019 to make way for the construction of Greater Shepparton Secondary College, which opened in 2022. Mooroopna
Mooroopna is a town located north of Melbourne, Victoria (Australia), Victoria, Australia. It is on the banks of the Goulburn River (Victoria), Goulburn River opposite the larger town of Shepparton. McGuire College
McGuire College is a coeducational secondary school located in Shepparton, Victoria, Australia on Wilmot Road, neighbouring with Wilmot Road Primary. The school was previously known as Shepparton South Technical School. It has approximately 501–600 students (2019). Wanganui Park Secondary College
Wanganui Park Secondary College was a Government secondary college, with an enrolment of about 1,300 students from years 7 to 12, in Shepparton, Victoria. It was amalgamated into Greater Shepparton Secondary College along with three other schools. The school had a unique curriculum, with the most notable feature being its Vertical Modular Grouping (VMG) system, which allowed for a high degree of flexibility in students' unit selections from years 8 to 10. The school also offered enrolment for year 7, and for years 11 and 12, the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) and Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE).
