Great Clips 250
The Cabo Wabo 250 was a NASCAR Xfinity Series race that took place at Michigan International Speedway. It was held on the same weekend as the track's NASCAR Cup Series race, the FireKeepers Casino 400. History First held in 1992, the race was a 200 mile event from its inception through 1999, and was extended to starting with the 2000 race. The 2007 Carfax 250 was the first-ever carbon neutrality, carbon neutral stock car event. Through partnerships with The Conservation Fund and Carbonfund.org, Carfax carbon offset, offset all carbon emissions generated by the race, including carbon emissions from fans attending the race. On May 31, 2023, it was announced that Cabo Wabo would be the title sponsor of the 2023 race. NASCAR Cup Series
The NASCAR Cup Series is the top racing series of the NASCAR, National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR), the most prestigious stock car racing series in the United States. The series began in 1949 as the Strictly Stock Division, and from 1950 to 1970 it was known as the Grand National Division. In 1971, when the series began leasing its naming rights to the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, it was referred to as the NASCAR Winston Cup Series (1971–2003). Team 34
Cicci Racing was an American professional stock car racing team that competed in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. The team is owned by Frank Cicci of Elmira, New York and was last driven by Jay Sauter. Beginnings FCR first began racing as a short track team in Upstate New York. They won the Late Model division championship in 1985 at Shangri-La Speedway (later Tioga Motorsports Park before closing after 2005) That year, they made their NASCAR Busch Series debut at North Carolina Speedway, as the No. 67. Jimmy Spencer qualified 30th and finished 19th. They hired Spencer to race in NASCAR's National Modified Tour after that, and subsequently won the championship in that series in 1986 and 1987. NASCAR Xfinity Series At Darlington
Stock car racing events in the NASCAR Xfinity Series has been held at Darlington Raceway in Darlington, South Carolina since the series' inaugural season in 1982. Initially only one race was held, but starting in 1984 the track hosted two races per year until 2004 when the track lost its fall weekend date as a result of the realignments caused by the Ferko lawsuit. A realignment in 2015 moved the spring race to the pre-Ferko fall slot. The emergency schedule realignment for 2020 resulted in Darlington regaining its second Xfinity date, which became permanent starting from 2021. The track is scheduled to downscale to just one race in 2025. Stock car racing events in the NASCAR Xfinity Series has been held at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire from 1990 to 2024. ToyotaCare 250
The ToyotaCare 250 was a NASCAR Xfinity Series race that took place at Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Virginia. The race was first held during the inaugural season for the Xfinity Series in 1982 as a 150-lap event. The race was removed from the schedule after 1984. It returned to the series starting in 1990 as a 200 lap race. It was expanded to 250 lap distance in 1994. In 2016, as part of an overhauling of the Richmond spring race weekend, including the new Dash4Cash format, the total of 210-laps and had two 35-lap heat races and a 140-lap feature. In 2017, the heat races were discontinued (as a result of stage racing being implemented that year), and the race returned to its 250-lap distance with the new stage format: stages 1 and 2 were 75 laps long, and stage 3 made up the remaining 100 laps. Jayski's Silly Season Site is a web site focusing primarily on NASCAR news and rumors. The website was founded by Jay "Jayski" Adamczyk in 1996 (who was a fan of Mark Donohue) after he had difficulty finding news regarding the Melling Racing team, and subsequently worked to get all NASCAR news grouped together on the site. The site was purchased from Adamczyk by ESPN in 2007; after ESPN shut the site down in January 2019, Adamczyk reacquired the rights to Jayski-related properties in April 2019 and rolled out a limited version of the new website with a full launch occurring on May 13, 2019. Carbon Offset
Carbon offsetting is a carbon trading mechanism that enables entities to compensate for offset greenhouse gas emissions by investing in projects that reduce, avoid, or remove emissions elsewhere. When an entity invests in a carbon offsetting program, it receives carbon credit or offset credit, which account for the net climate benefits that one entity brings to another. After certification by a government or independent certification body, credits can be traded between entities. One carbon credit represents a reduction, avoidance or removal of one metric tonne of carbon dioxide or its carbon dioxide-equivalent (CO2e). The Carbonfund.org Foundation (known as Carbonfund.org) was formerly a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization based in East Aurora, New York. It still provides carbon offsetting and greenhouse gas reduction options to individuals, businesses, and organizations. Carbonfund.org Foundation purchases and retires certified carbon offsets on behalf of its donors. The Conservation Fund
The Conservation Fund is a U.S. nonprofit organization with a dual charter to pursue environmental preservation and economic development. From 2008–2018, it has placed more than 500,000 acres under conservation management through a program whose goal is to purchase and permanently protect working forests.
