Grant Olney
Grant Olney Passmore (born October 18, 1983) is a singer-songwriter who has recorded on the Asian Man Records label. He is considered part of the New Weird America movement along with David Dondero, Devendra Banhart, Bright Eyes (band), Bright Eyes, and CocoRosie. His latest full-length album, Hypnosis for Happiness, was released in July 2013 on the Friendly Police UK label. His previous full-length album, Brokedown Gospel, was released on the Asian Man Records label in July 2004. He also releases music under the pseudonym Scout You Devil and as part of the songwriting duo Olney Clark. Alongside his music, Passmore is also a mathematician and theoretical computer scientist, formerly a student at the University of Texas at Austin, the Mathematical Research Institute in the Netherlands, and the University of Edinburgh, where he earned his PhD. A bulletin board system (BBS), also called computer bulletin board service (CBBS), is a computer server running software that allows users to connect to the system using a terminal program. Bright Eyes is an American indie rock band founded by singer-songwriter and guitarist Conor Oberst. David Dondero
David Dondero (born 24 June 1969 in Duluth, Minnesota, United States) is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. In 2006, NPR's All Songs Considered named David one of the "best living songwriters" alongside Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney and Tom Waits. Music career Dondero started his musical career on drums at the age of 9, due in part to the fact that he "was always drumming on stuff with my hands". Dondero released four records with the Clemson, SC-based punk/hardcore band Sunbrain (three on Grass Records and one on Ghostmeat Records), before breaking up in 1995.
