''Grande Fratello 3'' is the third season of the Italian version of the reality show franchise ''Big Brother''. The show began on 30 January 2003 and concluded on 8 May 2003. Barbara D'Urso as the main host of the show for the first time. Production It marked a turning point in the way the show was produced when compared to previous seasons. House The size of the house was increased to almost and was made almost entirely of glass. Nomination This year the nominations process was changed. Unlike previous years, this year the Housemates would each week nominate three of their fellow Housemates for eviction rather than two as in previous years. Luxury Suite In this season, a luxury suite was introduced. It's a soft room filled with every luxury that the Housemates were not allowed in the main house. Barbara D'Urso
Barbara D'Urso (born Maria Carmela D'Urso; 7 May 1957) is an Italian television personality, television host, actress and writer. Career D'Urso was born in Naples, Campania. Her father was from Laurenzana (died in 1996), and her mother, who died when Barbara was 11, was born in Sant'Eufemia d'Aspromonte. She made her debut in 1977 in the programme ''Goal'', alongside Diego Abatantuono, Teo Teocoli and Massimo Boldi. The following year she took part in the variety show ''Stryx''. In 1979 she presented the programme ''Che combinazione'' broadcast on Rai 2, and the year afterward, together with Pippo Baudo, she appeared in ''Domenica in'' on Rai 1. That same year, 1980, she also made her debut as a singer, with the single ''Dolceamaro'', which was not very successful. Piombino
Piombino is an Italian town and ''comune'' of about 35,000 inhabitants in the province of Livorno (Tuscany). It lies on the border between the Ligurian Sea and the Tyrrhenian Sea, in front of Elba Island and at the northern side of Maremma.
