Grand Union (train Operating Company)
Grand Union was a proposed open access operator, that had developed plans to operate train services in the United Kingdom from England to Scotland and Wales. The operator had two main proposed routes. One being an England–Wales route, between London Paddington, in England, and , in Wales. The other being an England–Scotland route, between London Euston and Stirling. In December 2022, the company was authorised by the Office of Rail and Road to operate trains between London Paddington and Carmarthen from December 2024. It was later granted the rights to operate the England to Scotland service between London Euston and Stirling, in March 2024. Grand Union then first sold its rights for the London Euston–Stirling service to FirstGroup in September 2024, de-merging its two proposed operations in Summer 2023. The Office of Rail and Road (ORR) is a non-ministerial government department responsible for the economic and safety regulation of Britain's railways, and the economic monitoring of National Highways. Gowerton Railway Station
Gowerton railway station (originally Gower Road and later Gowerton North) serves the village of Gowerton, Wales. It is located at street level at the end of Station Road in Gowerton, from the zero point at , measured via Stroud. The station is unstaffed but has a ticket machine, shelters on each platform and live train running information displays. Renfe (, ), officially Renfe-Operadora, is Spain's national state-owned railway company. A Driving Van Trailer (DVT) is a Great Britain, British purpose-built control car railway vehicle that allows the driver to operate with a locomotive in Push-pull train, push-pull formation from the opposite end of a train. A key benefit of operating trains with DVTs is the requirement for fewer locomotives; for example, a second locomotive would otherwise have to join at the other end of the train after arrival at terminal stations to lead the train's onward journey. British Rail Class 93 (Stadler)
The British Rail Class 93 is a tri-mode locomotive built by Stadler Rail in Valencia. It is an evolution of the Class 88 bi-mode locomotive, which was built by Stadler for Direct Rail Services. British Rail Class 91
The British Rail Class 91 is a high-speed rail, high-speed electric locomotive, which produces power of ; it was ordered as a component of the East Coast Main Line modernisation and electrification programme of the late 1980s. The Class 91s were given the auxiliary name of InterCity 225 to indicate their envisaged top speed of ; they were also referred to as ''Electras'' by British Rail during their development and throughout the electrification of the East Coast Main Line. London North Eastern Railway
London North Eastern Railway (LNER) is a British train operating company which operates most services on the East Coast Main Line. It is owned by DfT Operator for the Department for Transport (DfT).
