The 2024 Grand Slam was a two-part professional wrestling television special produced by All Elite Wrestling (AEW). It was the fourth annual Grand Slam event and took place on September 25, 2024, at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in the Queens borough of New York City. The two-part event was broadcast as special episodes of AEW's weekly television programs, '' Wednesday Night Dynamite'' and '' Saturday Night Collision''. ''Dynamite'' aired live on TBS while ''Collision'' aired on tape delay on September 28 on TNT. All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is an American professional wrestling promotion based in Jacksonville, Florida. It is considered the second largest wrestling promotion in the United States behind WWE. The FTW ("Fuck the World") Championship (also referred to as the FTW World Championship) is a professional wrestling championship created by Taz in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) in 1998. The championship was retired in 1999 after being unified with the ECW World Heavyweight Championship, and remained inactive for 21 years until being re-established by Taz in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in 2020. The AEW Continental Championship is a men's professional wrestling championship created and promoted by the American promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Established on November 18, 2023, the title has a special attribute in that it is defended under Continental Rules in which no one is allowed at ringside and outside interference is strictly prohibited. The current champion is Kazuchika Okada, who is in his first reign. He won the title by defeating Eddie Kingston on the March 20, 2024, episode of ''Dynamite''. Samuel George Guevara (born July 28, 1993) is an American professional wrestler signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where he is a member of the Jericho Appreciation Society. He is a record tying three-time former AEW TNT Champion. (born November 8, 1987) is a Japanese professional wrestler currently signed to New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Okada is a five-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion where his fourth reign with the championship is the longest in history at 720 days. He also holds the record for most successful title defenses with 12. Samuel Ratsch (born January 7, 1993), better known by the ring name Darby Allin, is an American professional wrestler signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where he is a former and longest-reigning AEW TNT Champion.
