Grand Prix Espoo
The Grand Prix of Finland is an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union (ISU). It is organized and hosted by the Finnish Figure Skating Association, and part of the ISU Grand Prix Series. The first competition was held in 2018 in Helsinki as a replacement for the Cup of China. It returned in 2022 as a replacement for the Rostelecom Cup after Russia was banned from international figure skating competitions. The Grand Prix of Finland has been held under several names: the Grand Prix of Helsinki, the Grand Prix of Espoo, and the Finlandia Trophy. Medals are awarded in men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating (known as ISU Champions Series from 1995 to 1997) is a series of senior international figure skating competitions organized by the International Skating Union. The invitational series was inaugurated in 1995, incorporating several previously existing events. Medals are awarded in single skating, men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. Matteo Guarise (born 15 September 1988) is an Italian pairs figure skater and roller skater. Currently competing in pair skating with partner Lucrezia Beccari, he is the 2024 European champion, a two-time ISU Grand Prix medalist, 2023 CS Nebelhorn Trophy silver medalist and 2024 Italian national silver medalist. After winning the 2008 World Championship in pairs roller skating with Sara Venerucci, Guarise switched over to figure skating to compete with Nicole Della Monica.
