Grand Central Terminal (GCT; also referred to as Grand Central Station or simply as Grand Central) is a commuter rail terminal station, terminal located at 42nd Street (Manhattan), 42nd Street and Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. Grand Central is the southern terminus of the Metro-North Railroad's Harlem Line, Harlem, Hudson Line (Metro-North), Hudson and New Haven Lines, serving the northern parts of the New York metropolitan area. Grand Central Band
The Grand Central Band was a New Zealand-based band formed in 1997 by Chris Melville. The band moved through several different line-ups, and over the years employed and guested around 70 different musicians, and esteemed local celebrities including Nathan Haines and Joel Haines, Midge Marsden, Maria Paterson (bassist for Dave Dobbyn/Neil Finn), and Kim Willoughby (from When The Cat's Away). The band's regular performance at the Grand Central Bar in Ponsonby, Auckland, extended to 17 years, earning them a reputation as a 'go-to gig' for other musicians and music students. The Grand Central Band released their first album ''Cook Street Sessions'' (Rhythmworks) in 2000, produced by Eddie Rayner, formerly from the iconic kiwi band Split Enz and had favourable writeups. Grand Central Hotel Belfast
The name Grand Central Hotel Belfast refers to two separate hotels at different locations in the city. The first opened in 1893 and was converted to a military barracks in 1972, before being demolished in the late 1980s. The second is a converted office building nearby, previously known as Windsor House, which was converted to a hotel and opened on 20 June 2018. First Grand Central Hotel The first Grand Central Hotel was located on Royal Avenue in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and opened in 1893. The hotel contained around 200 guest bedrooms and hosted many famous guests, including the Beatles and the Rolling Stones in the 1960s. The hotel was taken over by the British Army in 1972 for use as a military base from which to patrol the city centre during the height of the Troubles. It was reissued on 6 June 2022 through Velocity Records after the collapse of Collect Records. Background Following Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins' incarceration for child sex offences, No Devotion was formed. Bassist Stuart Richardson explained that they were unsure "if we would ever make music again or if people would look us in the face. Everything felt like it was over." Hotel Grand Chancellor is a hotel chain that operates throughout Australia and New Zealand. History The Hotel Grand Chancellor, Christchurch was severely damaged in the February 2011 Christchurch earthquake, and was believed to be in an imminent state of collapse. Grand Central Stockport is a retail, entertainment and leisure complex in Stockport, Greater Manchester, England. It is adjacent to Stockport railway station and the complex first opened in 1991. Since then it has included various leisure facilities such as a multiplex cinema, a swimming pool, a Cineworld Cinema a bowling alley, a gym, a Quasar complex, and various food outlets. Grand Central Records was an independent record label based in the Northern Quarter of Manchester, England. It was started in 1995 by DJ Mark Rae (who, along with Steve Christian makes up the duo Rae & Christian). Rae started out working as manager of the Fat City Records' store (which later also became a record label licensing material). The two labels maintained a close relationship, co-hosting club nights including ''Friends and Family, Counter Culture'' and developing related radio shows and merchandising. Grand Central also had a digital sub-label, GC3 which developed in the early to mid 2000's.
