Grace Episcopal Church is a historic church at 360 East Chicago Street in Jonesville, Michigan. It was designated a Michigan State Historic Site and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. It is one of the first church buildings constructed in Michigan west of Detroit, and is one of the few surviving examples of indigenous church architecture in the state. History In 1833, the Episcopal missionary William N. Lyster left Ireland for the United States, and eventually became the restor of a mission in Tecumseh, Michigan. From there, he traveled throughout southern Michigan to minister to isolated communities; in 1836 he held the first church service in Jonesville. Two years later, a parish was organized by Darius Barker. In 1844, the congregation began constructing this church; it was completed on November 15, 1848, at a cost of $3,000. Grace Episcopal Church is an Episcopal church in Newton, Massachusetts, United States. Completed in 1873, it replaced an earlier, wooden church which stood at the corner of Hovey Street and Washington Street from 1858. During the rectorship of the church's third pastor, Rev. Henry Mayer, plans were made to build a new church. The first intention was to build at the corner of Hovey and Washington, but a better location was found, at the corner of Church Street and Eldredge Street, about to the southwest. Eldredge Street did not exist before the transition. It is named for Elizabeth Trull Eldredge, who provided the funds for the E (natural) bell at the new church. The new church was designed by Alexander R. Esty. The cornerstone (the same one laid under the original church) was laid on September 4, 1872. The Grace Episcopal Church is an Episcopal church designed by noted American architect H. H. Richardson, with a major stained glass window by John LaFarge. It is located at 160 High Street, Medford, Massachusetts and now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The church was constructed 1867-1869. It is one of Richardson's earliest works and the second of his churches (now the earliest remaining since his Unity Church, Springfield, has been demolished). Its cornerstone was laid in 1867 but by August 1868 it was evident that construction costs would exceed the budget. After the Brooks family covered the remaining construction costs, it became a private chapel under Episcopal law. In 1873 the family delivered the church to the parish, and it then was consecrated by the Bishop of Maine. Grace Episcopal Church is a historic Episcopal church building at Common and Jackson Streets in Lawrence, Massachusetts. The site on which it as built has been used for religious facilities since 1846, around the time of Lawrence's founding. This simple Gothic Revival stone structure was built in 1852, replacing an earlier wooden chapel, and was enlarged in 1892. The church is also notable for its association with the Lawrence family: William Lawrence, grandson of founder Abbott Lawrence, became its minister in 1876. Grace Reformed Episcopal Church is a historic church in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Founded and built in 1910, it is a parish of the Reformed Episcopal Church's Diocese of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic and a contributing property to the Havre de Grace Historic District. The Grace Episcopal Church Complex is a historic Episcopal church located at Taylor's Island, Dorchester County, Maryland, United States. The complex consists of three frame structures: a schoolhouse, chapel of ease, and Grace Episcopal Church. The chapel of ease dates from the first quarter of the 19th century and is a 20 foot by 30 foot frame structure in the Carpenter Gothic style.
