Goyang FC
Goyang Citizen FC was a South Korean football club based in the city of Goyang. It was founded because of the disappointment created by Goyang KB Kookmin Bank FC, which decided not to elevate to K-League after winning the Korea National League in 2006. It was a member of the K4 League, an semi-professional league and the fourth tier of league football in South Korea. In 2008, it began participating in the Korean football league setup. The club was disbanded in 2022 after it lost its K4 League license. 2011 Challengers League
The 2011 Challengers League was the fifth season of amateur K3 League. In this season, the K3 League was renamed the "Challengers League", and 16 clubs participated after Samcheok Shinwoo Electronics and Yongin Citizen withdrew from the league. The participating clubs were divided into two groups, and the winners and runners-up of both groups qualified for the championship playoffs. All clubs had interleague play once after playing home and away season in each group. Daegu FC were the defending champions, but were eliminated in the round of 16 by Gyeongnam FC. The 2019 K3 League Basic was the third and last season of the K3 League Basic. Eight teams competed in the league for 21 rounds. Ulsan Citizen joined the league in the 2019 season. For 2020, the former Korea National League was absorbed into the K League or K3 League and rebranding as K3 League and K4 League. Competition format The 2019 season ran from March to October. Eight teams competed in a single division. Each team played each other 3 times for a total of 21 games. After the regular season, the top two teams were directly promoted to the 2020 K3 League. Clubs In this year, the number of foregin players limition is changed. Restricting the number of foreign players strictly to four per team, including a slot for a player from AFC countries. The 2017 K3 League Basic was the first season of the K3 League Basic. The top 12 teams from 2016 K3 League remained in the league renamed 2017 K3 League Advanced, and the remaining 8 teams were relegated to this new league. Yeonggwang FC withdrew this season, with two new teams Busan FC and Pyeongtaek G-SMATT FC joining. Competition format The 2017 season ran from March through to October. Before the start of the 2016 season, Seoul FC Martyrs withdrew from the league, but Buyeo FC, Siheung Citizen and Yangpyeong FC joined the league. The top five teams of the regular season qualified for the championship playoffs, and winners of the regular season advanced to the final directly. On the other hand, eight teams of participating teams had to be relegated to the K3 League Basic, founded as the second division of the K3 League in 2017.
