Government House Leader (British Columbia)
The Government House Leader of British Columbia is a frontbench member of the Legislative Assembly from the governing political party, who is tasked with planning and organizing the government's legislative business. The position is modelled on the federal Government House Leader in the House of Commons, and was established to lessen the workload of the Premier of British Columbia, who has executive duties outside of the legislature. The Government House Leader has a responsibility to consult with the house leaders of the opposition parties' caucuses to ensure that legislative business is conducted in an organized manner. Since at least 2009, British Columbia's government house leaders are also made members of the provincial executive council while they are serving. Government House Leader (Ontario)
The Ontario Government House Leader is the provincial cabinet minister responsible for planning and managing the government's legislative program in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. The position is not legally entitled to cabinet standing on its own so Government House Leaders may simultaneously hold another portfolio or be specifically designated as a minister without portfolio to participate in cabinet. House Leaders at the federal level are often granted sinecure assignments to give them cabinet standing while allowing them to focus exclusively on house business. This has not been the case at the provincial level. Ravinder "Ravi" Kahlon (born May 15, 1979) is a Canadian politician and athlete. He is a member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of British Columbia, representing the riding of Delta North as a member of the British Columbia New Democratic Party (BC NDP). The Horgan ministry was the combined Cabinet (formally the Executive Council of British Columbia) that governed British Columbia from July 18, 2017, to November 18, 2022. It was chaired by the 36th premier of British Columbia, John Horgan. Christy Clark Ministry
The Christy Clark ministry was the combined Cabinet (formally the Executive Council of British Columbia) that governed British Columbia from March 14, 2011, to July 18, 2017. It was led by Christy Clark, the 35th premier of British Columbia, and consisted of members of the British Columbia Liberal Party.
