Gorkiye Kilty
Gorkiye Kilty (russian: Горькие Кильты), also known as Gorkiye Kelty (russian: Горькие Келыты) and as Kelty Gorkoye (russian: Келыты Горькое), is a salt lake in Kulundinsky District, Altai Krai, Russian Federation.Google Earth The lake is located close to the western edge of the Krai. The nearest inhabited places are Semyonovka located from the eastern lakeshore, Smirnenkoye from the southwestern side, and Ozyornoye, from the southern end. Kulunda, the district capital, lies to the west. Geography Located in the Kulunda Plain, Gorkiye Kelty has a roughly semicircular shape. It stretches approximately from northwest to southeast. The shores are bound by salt pans in some tracts. Sentinel-2 is an Earth observation mission from the Copernicus Programme that systematically acquires optical imagery at high spatial resolution (10 m to 60 m) over land and coastal waters. The mission is currently a constellation with two satellites, Sentinel-2A and Sentinel-2B; a third satellite, Sentinel-2C, is currently undergoing testing in preparation for launch in 2024. Pied Avocet
The pied avocet (''Recurvirostra avosetta'') is a large black and white wader in the avocet and stilt family, Recurvirostridae. They breed in temperate Europe and across the Palearctic to Central Asia then on to the Russian Far East. It is a migratory species and most winter in Africa or southern Asia. Some remain to winter in the mildest parts of their range, for example in southern Spain and southern England. The pied avocet is one of the species to which the Agreement on the Conservation of African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbirds (AEWA) applies. Lake Kuchuk
Lake Kuchuk or Kuchukskoye (russian: Кучукское озеро) is a bittern salt lake in the southern part of the West Siberian Plain, Blagoveshchensky District, Altai Krai, south-central Russia. Its waters are briny, containing sodium sulphate. The northern end of the lake is connected by a channel with Lake Kulunda to the north. Geography Lake Kuchuk is the second largest lake in Altai Krai. It has an oval shape and is located to the south of Lake Kulunda in the eastern side of the Kulunda Plain, near the western limit of the Ob Plateau. Dzhira (russian: Джира), Zhira (russian: Жира) or Dzhiry (russian: Джиры), is a salt lake in Kulundinsky District, Altai Krai, Russian Federation.Google Earth The lake is located in the western part of the Krai.
