Gorham's Rangers was one of the most famous and effective ranger units raised in colonial North America. Sarah Gorham (born March 30, 1954) is an American poet, essayist, and publisher residing in Prospect, Kentucky. Background Gorham was educated at the Ecole d'Humanité, Ecole D'Humanité, an international boarding school in Switzerland and received her MFA from the University of Iowa in 1978 as well as her BA in 1976 from Antioch College. Gorham is author of four collections of poetry, most recently, ''Bad Daughter'' (Four Way Books, 2011). Gorham's poems have been widely published, including in ''Best American Poetry 2006'' and ''The Nation''. A memoir, "Alpine Apprentice" (University of Georgia Press, 2017) is a meditation on her time at an international boarding school in the Swiss Alps. Robert John Gorham (born 24 June 1973 in Portsmouth, Hampshire), known by the pseudonym Rob da Bank, is an English DJ and co-founder of music festivals Bestival, originally on the Isle of Wight and now moved to Lulworth, Dorset and Camp Bestival, also in Lulworth. Colonel Sir Richard Masters Gorham CBE, DFC, JP (3 October 1917 – 8 July 2006) was a prominent Bermudian parliamentarian, businessman and philanthropist, who served as a pilot during the Second World War when he played a decisive role in the Battle of Monte Cassino, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross. Nathaniel Gorham (May 27, 1738 – June 11, 1796; sometimes spelled ''Nathanial'') was an American Founding Father, merchant, and politician from Massachusetts. He was a delegate from the Bay Colony to the Continental Congress and for six months served as the presiding officer of that body under the Articles of Confederation. He also attended the Constitutional Convention, served on its Committee of Detail, and signed the United States Constitution. Life Starting at 15, Gorham served an apprenticeship with a merchant in New London, Connecticut, after which he opened a merchant house in Charlestown, Massachusetts, in 1759. Mel Gorham (born Marilyn Schnier, October 27, 1959) is an American actress who is best known for her role as Violet in Wayne Wang's films ''Smoke'' and '' Blue in the Face''. Gorham is from Miami, Florida, and is of Cuban and Jewish descent. Gorham's improvised rendition of Peggy Lee's "Fever" in ''Blue in the Face'' garnered her much critical acclaim and press. Joseph Gorham (sometimes recorded as Goreham, 1725–1790) was an American colonial military officer during King George's War and later a British army commander during the Seven Years' War and the American Revolutionary War. He is best known for leading a company of British imperial Rangers, called Gorham's Rangers, during the 1750s and early 1760s.
