Gordon McOmber
Willis Gordon McOmber (October 2, 1919 – August 24, 2018) was an American politician from Montana. He served in the Montana House of Representatives and Montana State Senate as a Democrat, having first been elected in 1954. McOmber also served as Lieutenant Governor of Montana to fill out the unexpired term of George Turman George Fugett Turman (January 25, 1928 – December 9, 2008) was the 24th Lieutenant Governor of Montana. Originally a Republican state legislator before becoming a Democrat, he was elected to the position in 1980 on a ticket with fellow Democ ... when he resigned in 1988. McOmber's time as Lieutenant Governor occurred when Montana was making preparations for its centennial year. Ted Schwinden
Theodore Schwinden (born August 31, 1925) is an American politician. He served as the 23rd Lieutenant Governor of Montana and the 19th Governor of Montana. Biography Schwinden was born in Wolf Point, Montana. He enlisted in the United States Army and served until 1946. Schwinden earned a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree from the University of Montana. Career A member of the Democratic Party, Schwinden was elected to the Montana House of Representatives in 1958. He was elected and was named to the Legislative Council in 1959. He served as the House minority whip in 1961. In 1965, he was elected president of the Grain Growers Association, and in 1969 he was named Commissioner of State Lands, He was reappointed in 1973 and served until April 1976. Great Falls is the third most populous city in the U.S. state of Montana and the county seat of Cascade County. The population was 60,442 according to the 2020 census. Magrath, Alberta
Magrath is a town in Cardston County, Alberta, Canada. Its population was 2,481 in 2021. Magrath is south of Lethbridge and south of Calgary. History Magrath was established in 1899 by settlers sent by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) from Utah and Idaho. These Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints settlers were recruited by the Alberta Railway and Irrigation Company to construct irrigation works in the area funded by British interests by the family of Sir Alexander Galt. The settlers were paid in cash and land in the town. This was the first major irrigation work in Canada and was made possible by the settlers' experience with the extensive irrigation projects undertaken by their church in Utah and Idaho. The irrigation system was completed in November 1899 and spanned ninety-miles. It was the first large-scale irrigation system in Canada.
