Gordon Lennon
Gordon Lennon (15 February 1983 – 7 June 2009) was a Northern Irish association association football, footballer. Starting his career at Albion Rovers F.C., Albion Rovers, he signed for Partick Thistle F.C., Partick Thistle in 2007, though he made no appearances for the first team and spent most of his season with the club on loan to Stenhousemuir F.C., Stenhousemuir. After moving to Dumbarton F.C., Dumbarton in 2008, he became club captain and helped secure the team's promotion to the Scottish Football League Second Division, Scottish Second Division. Career Lennon was born in Larne, Northern Ireland. He was named Albion's Player of the Year in 2006–07. Larne (, , the name of a Gaelic territory) is a town on the east coast of County Antrim, Northern Ireland, with a population of 18,755 at the 2011 Census. The 2008–09 Scottish Football League Third Division (also known as the 2008–09 Irn-Bru Scottish Football League Third Division for sponsorship reasons) was the 14th season in the format of ten teams in the fourth-tier of Scottish football. The season started on 2 August 2008 and ended on 9 May 2009. Dumbarton F.C. finished top and were promoted alongside Stenhousemuir F.C. as play-off winners. Cowdenbeath F.C. were also promoted due to Livingston being demoted to the Third Division.
