Gordon Anderson (director)
Gordon Anderson is a British television director, best known for his work on '' Lovesick'', '' Shameless'', '' Fresh Meat'' and ''The Inbetweeners''. He began his career in the theatre, directing at many of the UK's theatre and opera companies including the Royal National Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal Court, Bristol Old Vic, Manchester Royal Exchange, Scottish Opera and English Touring Opera. He was Artistic Director of ATC (2001–2007) where he commissioned, developed and directed new plays and new translations of contemporary international plays which toured throughout the UK. He trained as a television director at the BBC and went on to direct and write for ''The Catherine Tate Show''. A television director is in charge of the activities involved in making a television program or section of a program. They are generally responsible for decisions about the editorial content and creative style of a program, and ensuring the producer's vision is delivered. ''Lovesick'' (formerly known as ''Scrotal Recall'') is a British sitcom created by Tom Edge which was first broadcast on Channel 4 in October 2014 and stars Johnny Flynn, Antonia Thomas, Daniel Ings, Hannah Britland and Joshua McGuire. After the show was originally aired on Channel 4, it was made available by Netflix, who then commissioned a second season globally on 17 November 2016, billed as a Netflix Original. ''Fresh Meat'' is a British comedy-drama television series created by Jesse Armstrong and Sam Bain, who also created ''Peep Show''. The first episode, directed by David Kerr, was broadcast on Channel 4 on 21 September 2011, and the show aired on Wednesdays at 10 pm. The second series started airing on 9 October 2012 and consists of 8 episodes. On 22 November 2012, a third series was commissioned and began broadcasting on 4 November 2013.
