The Gord Carroll Curling Classic (formerly the Mount Lawn Gord Carroll Classic and the Village of Taunton Mills Gord Carroll Curling Classic) is an annual bonspiel A bonspiel is a curling tournament, consisting of several games, often held on a weekend. Whitby is a town in Durham Region. Whitby is located in Southern Ontario east of Ajax and west of Oshawa, on the north shore of Lake Ontario and is home to the headquarters of Durham Region. Julie Hastings (born September 5, 1975 in North York as Julie Anderson) is a Canadian curler from Stouffville, Ontario. Career As a junior curler, Hastings won the 1992 Ontario Junior Mixed Championship playing third for skip Brad Savage. In 1994, she won the Toronto Curling Association Junior bonspiel. At just 19, Hastings made it to the final of the 1995 Ontario Scott Tournament of Hearts, losing to Alison Goring. Peter Corner
Peter J. Corner2017 Brier Media Guide: Previous Rosters (born May 20, 1968 in Brampton, Ontario) is a Canadian curler from Burlington, Ontario. Career Corner was a member of the 1993 "dream team" of his cousin Wayne Middaugh and the brothers of Glenn and Russ Howard. Corner played lead for the team. All four players would skip teams to provincial championships in the future. In 1993, the team won the Brier and World Championship. Corner played in his first national championships at the 1987 Canadian Junior Curling Championships playing third for Middaugh. The team lost in the final to New Brunswick's Jim Sullivan. Corner joined forces with the Howards in 1990, and qualified for their first Brier in 1991. However, at the 1991 Labatt Brier, the team missed the playoffs with a 6-5 record. Cory Heggestad
Cory Heggestad (born February 4, 1973 in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan) is a Canadian curler from Barrie, Ontario. He currently skips a team on the World Curling Tour. Heggestad is a former Canadian Mixed Curling Champion. At the 2013 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship, he skipped a rink that included Heather Graham, Greg Balsdon and Amy MacKay to a national championship for Ontario. After posting a 9-2 round robin record, the team beat Quebec (skipped by Mike Fournier) and then Nova Scotia ( Brent MacDougall) to claim the championship. The team represented Ontario once again at the 2014 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship, finishing the round robin tied for third with an 8-3 record. After beating New Brunswick's Sylvie Robichaud rink in a tie breaker, the team beat Saskatchewan's Shaun Meachem in the semi-final before losing to Alberta's Darren Moulding in the final. John Epping
John Allan Epping (born March 20, 1983) is a Canadian curler from Toronto, Ontario. He currently skips his own team out of the Leaside Curling Club in East York, Toronto. Career Born in Peterborough, Ontario, Epping was a top junior curler, having won the Ontario Junior championship in 2004. At the 2004 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, his team finished with an 8-4 record, just out of the playoffs. He won the 2006 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship with Julie Reddick, Scott Foster and Leigh Armstrong. He won the 2007 provincial mixed as well, but could not defend his national title. After Juniors, Epping played third for Nick Rizzo until switching positions with Rizzo in 2006, and thus skipping the team. Jestyn Murphy (born September 21, 1996) is a Canadian curler from Mississauga, Ontario. She currently skips a team on the World Curling Tour. Career Youth Murphy won the Ontario Bantam championship in 2013, skipping a team out of the Listowel Curling Club. Murphy was a member of the University of Guelph women's curling team. In her first year, Murphy played third for the team, which was skipped by Katelyn Wasylkiw. The team played in the 2015 CIS/CCA Curling Championships, going 3-4. Irene Schori
Irene Schori (born 4 December 1983) is a Swiss curler from Bremgarten. She currently plays third on Team Michèle Jäggi. Career Schori was named to the Swiss Olympic Team in 2010. She served as the alternate for Mirjam Ott's team in Vancouver. They just missed winning a medal, finishing fourth. Schori has participated in both the 2008 and the 2009 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships with partner Toni Müller, and has taken gold at both of these championships. Schori and Müller were the heavy favorites to win in the 2010 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, but were eliminated by the China in an extra end in the quarterfinals. Gim Eun-ji also known as Gim Un-chi (born January 23, 1990) is a Korean curler from Gyeonggi-do. She currently skips the Gyeonggi Province curling team. Career Gim played as lead in her first world championship at the 2011 Capital One World Women's Curling Championship along with skip Kim Ji-sun. The team struggled finishing in last place with a 2–9 record. At the 2012 World Women's Curling Championship, South Korea made history by making the playoffs for the first time with a 8–3 record. Chelsea Brandwood is a Canadian curler from St. Catharines, Ontario. She currently skips a team on the World Curling Tour. Her hometown is Beamsville, Ontario. Career Youth Brandwood's first provincial title came at the women's bantam championship in 2012. Brandwood won the Ontario Junior women's championship in 2015, with teammates Claire Greenlees, Brenda Holloway and Danielle Greenlees. Isabella Wranå
Isabella Marianne Peggy Wranå (born 22 June 1997) is a Swedish curler. She is a former skip of the Swedish junior women's team, with whom she won a World Junior championship in 2017. In 2018, she was inducted into the Swedish Curling Hall of Fame. Career Juniors Wranå has skipped the Swedish team in four World Junior Curling Championships, in 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018. In 2014, she led her team of Jennie Wåhlin, Elin Lövstrand, Fanny Sjöberg and Almida de Val to a fourth-place finish, after they lost in the bronze medal game to Russia. Tracy Fleury
Tracy Fleury (born June 13, 1986, as Tracy Horgan) is a Canadian curler from Sudbury, Ontario. She joined the Rachel Homan rink as skip for the 2022–23 season. In 2021, she led her team to a silver medal at the 2021 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials. She has competed at the Canadian national championship five times and was the Northern Ontario women's junior champion skip from 2005 to 2007. Fleury represented Northern Ontario at three Canadian Junior Curling Championships during her junior career (2005, 2006 and 2007). She aged out of juniors in 2008 and began skipping her own rink on the Ontario and World Curling Tour's.
