Markelle Antonio Morrow, (May 14, 1997 - March 18, 2022) professionally known as Goonew, was an American rapper from Maryland. Rising to prominence in the DMV rap scene, Goonew gained attention for his whisper flow style and lyricism. His music often explored themes of street life, personal experiences, indulging in street narcotics, and the challenges of urban environments. Goonew's career was marked by collaborations with artists including Lil Yachty, Hoodrich Pablo Juan, Xanman, ASAP Ant ASAP Mob (stylized as A$AP Mob) is an American hip-hop collective formed in 2006 in Harlem, New York City, that consists of rappers (most of whom carry the "ASAP" moniker; except Da$H and Playboi Carti), record producers, music video directors, ... and more. the release of several mixtapes that garnered him a growing fan base. Xanman
Haile Malik Salaam (born August 16, 2000), known professionally as Xanman, is an American rapper from Landover, Maryland. He gained significant attention in 2019 with his single "Gucci Down". Xanman has worked with a number of other Maryland rappers including his cousin YungManny and frequent collaborator Goonew. Goonew died in March 2022 from gunshot wounds. Early life Xanman was born Haile Salaam on August 16, 2000, in Landover, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C. Raised in Landover, he was exposed to music at an early age. He claims Brightseat Road in Landover as his home. Salaam began to take an interest in the drums at age 5, and was influenced by his uncle, who was a drummer for Go-go legend Chuck Brown. He began recording music while in elementary school, and became proficient with the music software program Pro Tools when he was 11 years old.
