The Beautiful Girls are an Australian roots music group founded in Sydney in 2001 by Mat McHugh, Clay MacDonald, and Mitchell Connelly. They have released three extended plays, '' Morning Sun'' (2002), '' Goodtimes'' (2002), and '' The Weight of the World'' (2004), plus five studio albums, '' Learn Yourself'' (2003), ''We're Already Gone'' (2005), ''Ziggurats'' (2007), '' Spooks'' (2010), and '' Dancehall Days'' (2014). The last four albums have all peaked into the top 20 on the ARIA Albums Chart. ''Spooks'' and ''Dancehall Days'' also debuted at No. 1 on the Australian Independent Chart and No. 7&5 on the American ''Billboard '' Reggae Albums Chart, respectively. ABT (TV Station)
ABT is the call sign of a television station operated by the publicly-owned Australian Broadcasting Corporation, with a transmission area covering southern Tasmania. ABT began broadcasting on VHF channel 2 on 4 June 1960, with studios in inner-city Hobart and transmitter at Mount Wellington. The "AB" in the call sign stands for "Australian Broadcasting", as in Australian Broadcasting Commission (now Australian Broadcasting Corporation). The "T" in the call sign stands for Tasmania. As in other Australian states, the ABC television station in the state's capital city relays programs to a network of region-based transmitters: in the case of Tasmania, ABNT for northern Tasmania (transmitter located on Mt Barrow) and ABKT for King Island (transmitter located on Gentle Annie Hill). The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) is Australia’s principal public service broadcaster. It is funded primarily by grants from the federal government and is administered by a government-appointed board of directors. Music Australia was a free national online service hosted by the National Library of Australia, launched on 14 March 2005, covering all types, styles, and genres of Australian music. It was integrated into Trove in 2012. History of development Developing and delivering the systems to make the service possible posed enormous challenges to music librarians and information professionals across Australia. When the first ideas for a service were floated in 2001, Australia’s music was scattered across many different institutions, libraries, archives, museums and arts and specialists music organizations, and there was no way for users or researchers to find and access them.
