David Goodier
David Goodier (born 1954) is an English musician. He has been the bassist for the rock band Jethro Tull from 2007 until the band went on a hiatus in 2012, and again from 2017 when Ian Anderson started to tour again using the Jethro Tull name, with Goodier and keyboardist John O'Hara the only former Jethro Tull members to join Anderson. Jethro Tull's 2022 album ''The Zealot Gene'', their first in 19 years, marked Goodier's first appearance on a Jethro Tull studio recording. Goodier has appeared with many artists from the world of jazz, pop and rock and also worked extensively in theatre pit bands. Since 2002, he has been touring worldwide with Ian Anderson. In the summer of 2006, he accompanied British soprano Lesley Garrett, on her sold out tour of the United Kingdom. Mark Goodier (born 9 June 1961) is a British radio disc jockey best known for his time on BBC Radio 1 between 1987 and 2002. He had two spells presenting the station's Top 40 singles chart, from 1990 to 1992 and from 1995 until 2002. He also had a stint on '' Radio 1 Breakfast'' during 1993. He currently presents the mid-morning show between 10am and 1pm on Greatest Hits Radio. Goodier has also presented shows on BBC Radio 2, Classic FM, 102.2 Smooth Radio and Real Radio, and appeared on BBC television as a recurring presenter of ''Top of the Pops'' between 1988 and 1996. Edward Goodier (15 October 1902 – 4 November 1967) was an English professional footballer and football manager. Born in Farnworth, Lancashire, he played as a wing half for Huddersfield Town, Lancaster Town, Oldham Athletic, Queens Park Rangers, Watford, Crewe Alexandra and Rochdale. He was appointed player-manager at Rochdale in 1938, and continued in that capacity during the Second World War until appointed team manager of Birmingham in August 1943. His contract included provision for a two-year appointment after the war, but after two months in post, he requested and obtained his release for domestic reasons, after which he rejoined Rochdale as secretary-manager.
