GoodThunder
GoodThunder was a psychedelic/progressive rock/hard rock band that formed in 1972 as James Cahoon Lindsay (vocals and percussion), John Desautels (drums), David Hanson (guitars and vocals), Bill Rhodes (bass), and Wayne Cook (musician), Wayne Cook (keyboard). Other members include Fritz Richmond (engineering), Rick Rodrigues (cover art), Lorrie Sullivan (photography), and Robert Heimall (art direction). Not much is known about this band except the information you find on the back cover of their first and only album. If you don't listen to it, the only thing that stands out on this album is the fact that famous producer Paul A. Rothchild (who produced albums by The Doors, Janis Joplin, and Rush (band), Rush just to name a few) produced this album. Most of the core band went on to join Album-oriented rock, AOR band L.A. Wayne Cook (musician)
Wayne Cook (born 1946) is an American keyboardist best known for his time with Steppenwolf (band), Steppenwolf and Player (band), Player. He co-wrote the instrumental "Lip Service" and played keyboards on Steppenwolf's 1976 ''Skullduggery (album), Skullduggery'' album. The following year, he joined Player, appearing on their second album ''Danger Zone'' in 1978 and ''Room with a View'' in 1980. Janis Joplin
Janis Lyn Joplin (January 19, 1943 – October 4, 1970) was an American singer and songwriter. One of the most iconic and successful Rock music, rock performers of her era, she was noted for her powerful mezzo-soprano vocals and her "electric" stage presence. In 1967, Joplin rose to prominence following an appearance at the Monterey Pop Festival, where she was the lead singer of the then little-known San Francisco psychedelic rock band Big Brother and the Holding Company. After releasing two albums with the band, she left Big Brother to continue as a solo artist with her own backing groups, first the and then the Full Tilt Boogie Band. Fritz Richmond
John B. "Fritz" Richmond (July 10, 1939 – November 20, 2005) was an American musician and recording engineer. Richmond was a washtub bassist and was also a professional jug player. Richmond, born in Newton, Massachusetts, on July 10, 1939, was a founding member of The Hoppers, a school-chum jug band that played the coffeehouse circuit in the Boston area. Jug band music featured homemade or folk-style instruments such as the washboard (used for percussion), a large earthenware jug used as a wind instrument, and a single-string washtub bass. Fritz's first instrument was made using his buddy Tom Stephan's mothers wash tub, Tom's hockey stick and a length of Mrs. Stephan's clothes line. He also used a jug found in the Stephan's basement. This type of music, in England, became known as skiffle music and was played by groups who could not afford electric instruments, such as the Quarrymen, a Liverpool skiffle group that evolved into the Beatles.
