Gondwana Link
Gondwana Link is one of the largest and most ambitious conservation projects proposed in Australia’s history. Designed to protect and restore the ecological integrity of land areas across south-west Western Australia, a biodiversity hotspot, the completed link will be a continuous stretch of reconnected bushland stretching for a 1000 km from the wet forests in the State’s far southwest to the dry woodlands and shrublands bordering the Nullarbor Plain. Fitzgerald River National Park
Fitzgerald River National Park is a national park in the Shires of Ravensthorpe and the Jerramungup in Western Australia, southeast of Perth. The park is recognised on Australia's National Heritage List for its outstanding diversity of native plant species, including many plants which are unique to the local area. Description The park includes the Barren Mountains (East, Middle and West Mount Barren) and Eyre Range and the Fitzgerald River as well as incorporating the Fitzgerald Biosphere. Yarrabee Wesfarmers Reserve
Yarrabee Wesfarmers Reserve is a 9.23 km2 nature reserve in south-west Western Australia. It is 120 km north-east of Albany and 481 km south-east of Perth. It lies on the eastern boundary of the Stirling Range National Park, and is managed by Bush Heritage Australia (BHA), by which it was purchased in 2006 with the financial assistance of Wesfarmers. It is jointly owned by BHA and by Greening Australia (WA), and forms part of BHA's Gondwana Link project. Beringa Reserve
Beringa Reserve, formerly known as Peniup Creek Reserve, is a 25.06 km2 nature reserve in south-west Western Australia. It lies about 380 km south-east of Perth. It is owned and managed by Bush Heritage Australia (BHA), by which it was purchased jointly with Greening Australia (WA) in 2007, and forms part of the Gondwana Link project, in which BHA is a partner. Flora and fauna The reserve protects yate, mallet and moort woodland as well as mallee heath vegetation and riparian communities along the upper Peniup Creek. Revegetation
Revegetation is the process of replanting and rebuilding the soil of disturbed land. This may be a natural process produced by plant colonization and succession, manmade rewilding projects, accelerated process designed to repair damage to a landscape due to wildfire, mining, flood, or other cause. Originally the process was simply one of applying seed and fertilizer to disturbed lands, usually grasses or clover. The fibrous root network of grasses is useful for short-term erosion control, particularly on sloping ground. Stirling Range National Park
Stirling Range National Park is a national park in the Great Southern region of Western Australia, approximately south-east of Perth. Description It protects the Stirling Ranges, or Koikyennuruff, a range of mountains and hills over wide from west to east, stretching from the highway between Mount Barker and Cranbrook eastward past Gnowangerup.
